For several years, it's been my dream to sail on Disney Cruise Line's (former) flagship, the Disney Fantasy, in one of her 21 suites. They call it their Concierge rooms and today I want to review my experience sailing onboard in one of those elusive rooms, how I did it and most importantly... if it's worth the money.

If you want some idea of just HOW overpriced even ordinary cabins are on Disney, my wife and I were planning a June 2023 Alaska cruise (for our 30th anniversary)…For a standard Accessible Balcony cabin on the Disney Wonder 7 night with stops in Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, this would’ve been $9000…not even for a suite, just a standard accessible 425 sq ft room….A comparably sized cabin on Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas, which made two extra port calls, WAS SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS!! This was enough to actually afford an entire second cruise, a 19 night Australia to Honolulu cruise stopping in New Zealand, Tahiti and Bora Bora, and in the same 425 sq ft Accessible balcony cabin…So, NO…not worth it

I don’t see myself ever going on a cruise, let alone one that expensive, but that won’t stop me from watching every video Jake uploads 😂

$40, 000 is the price for chartering a small superyacht for a week, which would be for 8 to 12 people (although you do have to pay fuel, marina costs and food which is about +25% on top)

I agree with your assessment. My family and I cruised Disney Concierge exclusively until their prices literally went through the roof. We have since moved to another cruise line and have fallen in love with their upscale cruise options, but we always look back very fondly at our family vacations aboard the Dream & Fantasy.

This is amazing. It's awesome to have such a trusted creator giving reviews! It's hard because so many reviews are travel agencies

Thank you so much for doing this, this is the only cruise review I’ve been able to find that’s not trying to sell me on going on a cruise or is sterile and bland like it’s strait from corporate

We’ve done concierge on 3 sailings and I agree, as nice as concierge is, it is not “worth” the price. I believe it’s worth trying it once just to experience, especially if you want to reserve a cabana, a sought after expedition, or it’s on a very special/unique cruise, but make no mistake you are paying for the privilege of being in an elevated class. Staying concierge actually made me feel better about booking normal rooms. All concierge perks fit on only one sheet of paper and boil down to lounge access and early bookings, and since concierge is usually twice the cost of a regular room you’re better off doing 2 sailings for the cost of one in concierge.

I would love to see your take on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. It has received terrible word of mouth but it's a interesting concept IMO. A hybrid of dinner theater, theme hotel and cruise experience. It looks like deal's are becoming available because of low bookings.

We're going to Alaska on Holland America, 14 night cruise in a balcony, totaling $6, 000. I can't imagine dropping $30K, even on a luxury cruise line for a month. Still, you can't beat 50% off, especially if it is something you've always wanted to do. Congrats on the success of your other channel, making dreams a reality!

“Value” is a relative term. I don’t think you will ever find a luxury, concierge like service that is “worth it” when you add up the cost of the benefits you get. The value is really in two things high income earners often want: time and less hassle. If you make 800k a year, work 60-80 hours a week, and can only get away for a few weeks each year, you prioritize time and stress relief when you’re on vacation. 30k isn’t really a huge amount in that context, but if it gives you more time to do what you want or makes the planning less of a hassle, it is suddenly worth it.

The Fantasy is my favorite as well. I would never do concierge as I just don't believe its worth the insane price. We love our standard aft verandah. The service is already beyond exceptional too. People complain about decor being "dated"?? Its based on classic ocean liner design which is downright gorgeous. Its rich, luxurious, and makes you feel like royalty. Thats one of the many reasons I was not a fan of the Wish. It felt cheap and sterile... I guess those people complaining about the classic ships can just go on the Wish. Great video!

I really like the way the concierge suite and spaces are themed. Reminds me of how the old ocean liners looked.

Honestly, I would have expected a lot more for the incremental $10, 000-$25, 000 over the standard prices. Some snacks, alcohol, and a few small perks around booking and shows don't seem too impressive.

Having done concierge on the Dream and, recently, on the Wish. I agree that the value is just not there, especially on the Dream and Fantasy. The Wish has a much better lounge and we spent a large portion of our time there, the bartenders were fantastic. We felt there was “better” value on the Wish, but still not enough to justify the price. Disney Cruise Line Concierge is nice for a splurge, if you can save up for it, but certainly does not provide an experience worthy of the price. Great video, as always!😊

Such an incredible video Jake! One of the best creators out there when it comes to abandoned places and bankrupt companies and now travel reviews! Can't wait to watch more of these videos!

“Palpable” is a great way to describe great service. Anytime I’ve been lucky enough to experience something like that it’s a super special feeling and I probably get too attached to the people providing it 😁

I love these reviews! Totally honest and interesting. I have noticed some travel review channels tend to only focus on the great and good things and never bring up negatives. Keep up the great work

I’ve been a subscriber since 2016 and I purchased “Closed for Storm” the day it came out, so naturally I’ll be subscribing to your new channel. I love the way you cover past, present, and future of your subject matter and it’s never boring. You have a unique gift and I’m proud of how far you’ve come. It’s almost like watching a little brother grow up 😅😂.

I like how Disney has created a nice suite experience without ruining the rest of the ship for the non-suite guests... Looking at your Norwegian and how your Haven has ruined the upper decks by removing large portions of deck space.

The Haven from NCL is one of the best ship within a ship luxury concepts. You get all the perks from staying in there regardless of cabin and offer way more perks than Disney has. More space, exclusive restaurants, pools, butler service throughout the ship and more. Oh and the price for it is MUCH less. I booked a 10 day mediterranean cruise for this May for 3 people in a 2 bedroom suite on the NCL Epic, and all in with travel protection and there free at sea items, it was $15k. And if we added another person it would only be $50 for the room and then gratuities ect on top of that.
