It would be cool if you did a series on how to implement all of them.

Also, I had an idea for a Punk genre like Glass punk. I was inspired by the glass harpe instrument. I thought, this makes beautiful music, but what if everything was like this. Tall buildings made of glass, maybe using wind as transportation. Huge magnifying glass like apparatuses to heat the cities or food material. They'd be most common in deserts and coasts but with ingenuity could be almost anywhere.

I unironically want to see/play a Burgerpunk campaign. Think cyber or diesel punk, but Militarized restaurant chains fight wars in the streets, with independent restaurants struggling to stay on the map, all the while famine and disease plague the intercity.

Imagine having to defend a food shipment from Wendy's biker gang raids, or navigating through subway tunnels while being hunted by a Burger king Liberty Prime. Chick Fil-a churches try to be a sanctuary for the unaligned, but don't operate on Sundays, leaving them to fend for themselves. McDonalds cultist, adorned in Ronald themed colors, convert who the can and kill who they cant.

Solar Punk could be awesome for a fantasy setting. Maybe the sun is not only the source of all technology but also the source of all magic.

The "Good Hunting" episode from "Love, Death & Robots" is a clear example of silkpunk, imo.

Cattle punk is my favorite
A weird old west where steam punk cyborgs, mad scientists with bioweapons in jars, shamans summoning spirits, paper cartridge guns, never ending wars, trains burning the souls of the damned, and eastern monk masters of chi all co-exsting just not peacefully

Here are my immediate thoughts on what would be great examples of these that were not mentioned:
- Apunkalypse: Revolution TV series
- Bronzepunk: Stargate (all)
- Decopunk: 5th Element
- Oceanpunk: seaQuest DSV
- Skypunk: Last Exile anime

5:16 you say "they didn't know what to do with them", but likely they had ideas for it. Their problem was that they didn't have good enough materials and craftmanship to have a functional steam engine, just like fusion reactors today, where we know the theory of how it's supposed to work but we don't know how to make a stable structure for it

I ADORE this topic! I've always known that there were a ton of "punk" genres but only knew the main few, I would love for you to go into more detail on some of these! Sandalpunk, Dieselpunk, Ocean/Piratepunk, and Steampunk with its subgenres are my favorites

Godpunk would also fit under American Gods because it's an urban fantasy genre that focuses solely on the interactions between gods and mortals Percy Jackson would be an example of this.

Steamed Hams punk: A punk setting based on ovens, steamers and fast food about cooking an unforgettable luncheon for the superintendent while lying about what you are serving as food while your setting is on fire. Examples include the “Steamed Hams” sketch for 22 short films about Springfield.

A DND world of clashing Dieselpunk and Aetherpunk, where the Aetherpunk nations use more rare and difficult to use materials that result in cleaner energy while the Dieselpunk nations use darker and more easily accessible energy that also happen to corrupt everything.
Like, an empire using natural magic that requires years of study and training, while the Republic uses volunteer human sacrifices to achieve those purposes.

Wow this video is great! It gave me so much inspiration for a game I'm making. You can even combine any number of these genres, imagine the possibilities!

Me, during the Biopunk section: bioshock, Bioshock say BIOSHOCK you bastard!

But I guess Decopunk fits Bioshock good as well.

Silkpunk- Iron Mask (2019), Forbidden Kingdom (2008)

Another example of Ocean punk is Seaquest DSV

the french film Ridicule is an excellent view of what Mannerspunk could be, with jockeying for position at court and the complex role of intellect and especially wit being central.

In my current campaign setting, Skypunk was a thing of the long ancient past, floating cities raised by ancient magic from a human civilization willing to challenge the Gods and overthrow them. Upon which they failed, giving the more traditional D&D setting of the current day, though with the implementation of Furnace Trains (trains that run on the power of a fire Elemental) things could get a little cattlepunk, maybe.

These flavor videos are just awesome. Not matter the topic and even if I can't use all of it. It jreally helps get the brain juices flowing (not in a splatterpunk way though).

In a weird sense I feel like punk in this context has a similar meaning to core

The " The Great Wall " movie definitely an example of Silkpunk. Strongly recommend to watch that, mid-low type of movie but fun to watch if you wanna spend time with friends etc.
