Cubase AI 9.5 Soft-eLicenser Deactivated PROBLEM. NEED HELP! WTF Steinberg!

My Soft-eLicenser (meaing my PC and not a USB dongle) is now deactivated and no matter what I do it won't allow me to activate my Cubase AI 9.5 or Wavelab LE 9.5.

I was a Cubase user for over 25 years. I was a Steinberg evangelist. I got sick and tired of the bloat-filled, bug-ridden software, the total lack of technical support, the arrogance of users in the forum and I quit. in 2013, I switched to Studio One and have had all the opposite! A smooth, lean, clean DAW, with hardly a bug, fantastic tech support, a company who really look after their customers, and user forums that are filled with nice, friendly and helpful people. Little did I realise that my switch would end up being literally life changing. My advice: Drop Cubase. Cut your losses and never look back.

Thanks for all the comments. Yes, I have uninstalled eLicenser and Cubase and every shit related to it and re-installed. Followed every support FAQ from steinberg, but nothing works. eLicenser simply won't let my PC be a dongle. I don't have and would never pay for a USB dongle, and for my copy of Cubase AI 9.5, I don't need the USB dongle.
I don't use Cubase for my projects, but some clients I have do, so I like to stay on the same platform.

Man I had to laugh! and Yes I went to the same thing except that I spend three days instead eight hours but once I figure it out, everything made sense but Steinberg don't make it easy that's for sure me and you are not the only ones either I went a cross other people in youtube with the same insures!😃😃😃

I feel your pain... Thois whole E-Licensing thing is total BS. I don't know if other DAWs have got to deal with this. Sometimes I feel like switching but I've been with Cubase since they started

Sometimes the OS is updated. What you have to do is to download the e licenser software from the Steinberg Site and reinstall it without uninstalling the previous version. Then just run the program and make the mantainment stuff.

The e-licensor is my pet hate of Cubase and is obviously a hot topic on forums. In this modern age where newer devices have limited USB and connection ports you have to waste one just to operate the software. Dongles work well but is a concept out out of the 80/90’s and there are other ways to secure your software application. Recently I had to rebuild a device and I also spent significant time sorting out licensing issues rather than being productive with the software. I also do a lot of live band recording and I just hate have a USB dongle hanging out the side of my device, it gets knocked, lost, trodden on and I am sick of replacing it on a consistent basis. Get your shit together Steinberg otherwise any money I have for upgrades is going towards another product.

I had the problem that the serial number was deactivated in the eLicenser.
Error message Cubase "No valid license found". (Installing Cubase Elements 12)
Didn't get an activation code when I bought it, just a download access key.

Solution: Install on another PC. If this works, you can
generate a license file on another PC via offline activation.
1. Deactivate WLAN/LAN, log out of account, open Activation Manager (offline usage), generate offline license file
2. Upload file to working PC in Activation Manager, create license file
3. Load new license file in Activation Manager

Trying to uninstall now stuck on working on it not showing any progress indication. I wonder if it is really going to work and uninstall everything.

Totally agree. Can't contact support either. My e-lisencer can't update database, so the only solution I could find on forums is to "check your firewall settings, uninstall the app, restart pc, install the latest version". I had no success. The only thing I can do is just to give up.

i installed latest version of e licencer controlcenter i got registr code from it i entered my steinberg and my product and lastly reactive button it says There is no Soft-eLicenser to reactivate. i clicked Add the Soft-eLicenser to your account.i entered reg'stration code that i took from elicencer control centerit says it successfully registered but when i entered reactivation place again i see  There is no Soft-eLicenser to reactivate. problem how can i fix this problem?

Sir after install cubase 9.0.30 when I'm opening it, there are no timeline, mixer and if i add track from project menu the screen Doesn't chang. There have just uper and lower tools.. Please tall me how to fix it..

I go through this every six months. Why it happens I dont know but it is frustrating and I am seriously thinking of switching to other software because of it. It makes me swear too.

Download and install the newest elicenser, run as administrator (Right click and run as admin). It should show the license, Then you have to run Cubase as an administrator

I had exactly the same problem. I Right clicked the Cubase Icon and ran in Administrator mode. Fixed. Even though i had all permissions ticked in properties.
