How to launch a boat alone. NO Dock NO CLIMBING!!

Показать описание
Launching a boat ALONE with NO DOCK can be scary, it’s really not too hard to do, but launching with a partner is a much better idea. Don’t be afraid to ask an on-looker for help.

LAUNCH AT YOUR OWN RISK! MAKE SURE YOUR OUTBOARD OR OUTDRIVE IS OVER THE WATER BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT SAFETY CHAINS!

Check with your dealer for exact launching directions for YOUR BOAT. THIS METHOD IS FOR MY BOAT and is not the best method for EVERY boat. IF YOU HAVE A ROLLER STYLE TRAILER YOUR BOAT CAN ROLL OFF THE TRAILER AT ANY TIME. I have a BUNK STYLE TRAILER.

You should choose a ramp with a sandy bank or bring water proof boots to keep your boat’s keel from getting scratched.

A few people were thinking that I pulled the boat up onto concrete. I did not, there is 5 feet of thick sand at the foot of the ramp. Obviously do not pull your boat up on to concrete, push the boat off to the side of the concrete onto the soft bank if needed. Thanks for watching!

It's a beautiful boat.
I'll be retired soon, just checking and learning how to. Thanks. Greetings from Toluca Mexico.

Great vid. Half hitches are fine if you’re not going to put a load on them and jam them.

Keel Shield is a rubber V-shaped strip you glue to bottom of boat at the bow. Choose the length you need. Comes in different colors. White matched my boat; it’s still white 20 years later.

Comes in handy when we beach a boat for camping in AZ. Lots of rock.

That is a beautiful boat. Love the color scheme coordinated with the T-Top frame.

I launch the same way, but i just attach the rope to the winch post on the trailer.
Where i launch there is no dock, so i just pull it up a bit when i park my truck.
You cant really reload the boat without getting your feet wet when theres no dock.
I back the trailer in, then push the boat off and pull it onto the trailer with the rope.
Winch it up the last few feet and secure the safety chain.
Pay attention to wind direction as for where you position the boat before backing the trailer into the water for loading.

Great video!!! More people should be prepared like this when they get to the ramp. Too many people without a plan clog everything up and waste our precious boating time! I self launch my Groverbuilt 26' inboard in less time than most people with a 13' Whaler 😂

I love this guy! I watched your videos couple of times and learned a lot from it. I really appreciate your expertise. Your cool tricks on how to safely launching a boat by yourself is so simple and basically common sense. Being a first time boat owner, I tried your tricks ‘n bam, I got it done safely like a pro it’s been about 6 times now, launching and trailering my brand new Four Winns HD-240. ...’Thank you for your genuine advice and expertise 👍🇺🇸

Clear and simple instructions on a relatively simple process. How come so many people make it look difficult. 🤔

Thank you! Useful information! I have to launch by my self half the time and I am always concerned about having the boat float away.

Thanks for the info, I sometime have to launch a boat by myself.

Nice job! Could also anchor to the shoreline if there's an open area next to the ramp. Float it off, then pull it in to you.

Thanks for the vid. Half hitches though? A bowline is simple to tie and never gets too tight to untie. This vid helped me out though I appreciate you taking the time to show it.

There are knots that untie quicker but you untied the half hitches pretty quick. A power pole would help in the sandy bottom ramps.

I use snap hooks on both ends of my rope

You still used the dock. I assume if it’s a no dock launch into a sandy bottom your just launching from shore on beach without a launch ramp. Your right the best thing is to not launch alone and have another competent boat or truck drivers to help out. Even someone doing nothing on the dock could lend a hand. Also if your a solo launcher please walk or drive your boat to the end of the dock so you don’t block the next boat from launching while you park your vehicle. Nice video.

If you need extra length, tie the rope to the winch post on the trailer instead of the truck?

thank you, now I don't have to get my feet wet and risk slipping. I'd like to see some tricks for a 14' aluminum at the river bank, I'm thinking about putting a line on the back corners and winching there to get it out of the water.
