On August 12, 1985, Japan Airlines Flight 123 became the scene of the deadliest single-aircraft accident in aviation history. The Boeing 747, carrying 524 passengers, suffered a massive decompression 12 minutes after takeoff, leading to a loss of control. After a terrifying 32 minutes of drifting, it crashed into Mount Takamagahara, with only 4 survivors. But what caused this tragedy? Investigators discovered that a faulty repair done seven years earlier after a minor tailstrike was the root cause.

This video recounts the dramatic timeline of events, from the repair oversight that sealed the aircraft’s fate to the long, horrifying minutes leading to the crash. We’ll reveal the crucial safety changes that came out of this incident and how it shaped modern aviation standards. Watch until the end to uncover the full story of this devastating air disaster.

Do you think the airline or Boeing should bear the responsibility for this disaster? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

I would say they improperly repair plane tail that why it’s crash it’s definitely the maintenance fault for not being careful while repair

Because the 1st landing of the airplane the tail crashed slightly and maybe that's causes why vertical stabilizer damage and when you think its just normal tail crash but there's a belt or lock for airplane fin to lock it and maybe it was broken after the 1st landing, they repair it but not to much tougher

Fun facts
First
Japan 123 crashed 1985 August 12 and this isn't the deadliest plane crash it the 2 deadliest plane crash the first one was in 1977 and 50 people survive in the crashed but few days earlier the 47 people died meaning only 4 survived
Next
Why did the tail broke off because in 1978 japan 123 landed but the tail hit the ground but everyone survived but in 1985 they crashed meaning they didn't fix it well
Finally
10 days earlier delta airlines 191 crashed in 1985 2 of August and 10 days more jal 123 crashed
Have learn now 😊
