A couple of corrections to the commentary in this video.

1) He says when the battery runs flat the car returns to running on the petrol power alone. Not true. The Car returns to running as a hybrid, because the battery is never truly flat, so even when it can't run as an EV, the electric motors are assisting the petrol engine, or vice versa depending on the drive mode.

2) He says that he has seen 5-6 litres / 100km economy running on petrol when the battery is depleted and this does not match the Mitsubishi claimed figures of 1.5 l/100km. Mitsubishi are very clear that the 1.5 litres/100km is calculated by starting with a full battery and driving 100km.

Despite having a boxy silhouette, this SUV looks spectacular indeed

I have this for 1.5 years now. I love it and serves me a lot.

Thanks for this review, I've watched it a few times. I am one of the 'select few' this car appeals to - big enough for our growing family, can get me through my short daily commute on electric power only, but also has the petrol engine to appease any range anxiety. It looks beautiful, it's techy, it has the required space for 3 kids, so I have ordered my 2024 PHEV GSR, and I can't wait until it arrives later in the year.

Full charge in Australia on a regular domestic 240 outlet is 9.5 hours, not 12 hours. 12 is the figure for US 110v home charging.

For me, this is one of the most perfect SUV, best balance between everything, and you can't deny how flexible this thing is.

You say it loses it's shine because for the price you can get a full EV. Is there a 5+2 seater with this much boot space, ride comfort, physical buttons, and carplay?

I think the Model Y is the closest and it's just not right in all the ways the outlander is right.

I got it for 39k Sel higher grade with moon roof! With a lot of discount and military/ owning a outlander sports 😅 I'm happy with mine

It actually cant run on petrol power unless its over 70km/h because the single speed gearbox has too high of a ratio for the petrol engine to run without stalling. The petrol engine provides power so the electric motors can drive the wheels and extra energy goes back into the batteries

I reckon this is a good buy, if you can get one on a novated lease where it’s exempt from FBT.

I’ll think I’ll look into that.

I think something they have completely overlooked is the AWD. Almost non existent in the PHEV world. Means you can cruise around town using no fuel but also take it up the ski mountain or drop ya boat off at the boat ramp no issues.

Wouldnt buy it brand new, but second hand feels like good value

Can it use with mitshibishi remote control apps for outlander PHEV?

Not chance in hell is a Mitsi. Worth $70k. It doesn’t matter what they throw at it.

How about reviewing the aspire, rather than the top bling model - much better value

I wish they would bring back the Lancer as a Plugin Hybrid with same technology

Public Chademo fast chargers are disappearing fast as CVS is the winning standard and Chademo is dead. Around my area all fast chargers have converted their Chademo to CVS so forget public charging. There is no home two way DC charger that supports Chademo in Australia currently available according to Mitsubishi and is unlikely to become available in the future so forget any hope of doing V2G or V2H when this becomes legal (expected 2025). Outlander is best suited to people who charge at home with off street parking (especially with solar panels) and or want to do off road.

They should do a 7 seat Lancer PHEV wagon.

I have one since 2023 Sep, the best decision when on novated lease

Would be more useful if there were actually available in a realistic timeframe(3-4 months), not a year.
