Incredible Video as Giant Manta Ray Asks Divers for help

Incredible footage of an enormous manta ray swimming up to a group of snorkelers on Ningaloo Reef in Australia.

It singles out wildlife guide Jake Wilton and passes close to him several times before he spots that it has fish hooks close to its eye.

The giant animal, who is nicknamed Freckles, lets Jake get close enough to remove them.

This proofs that fish do feel pain/discomfort from hooks that penetrate their body. I don't understand why we pretend that these creatures don't feel anything, while we know that life is incredibly sensitive to stimuli from their environment. I think it's ignorance from our side, something like 'we don't feel the hook penetrating their bodies, so they probably don't feel it either' kind of nonsense.
