Thanks and ESPECIALLY for the clip of the beach bum. Reminds me of the first time we took our little biscuit head Johnny (he had straw-blonde hair then) to the beach at Tahoe, when he was one. He turned 34 yesterday. The time goes so fast, and where does it go?
AND some good suggestions regarding Austen knock offs. The summer and the Carry-trade financial collapse ought to make us think of other more important things closer to home.
That's a good beach hat.

What a sweet ending! I am reading P & P for Jane Austen July. It’s been 9 years since I read it and it’s DEFINITELY time for a reread! I have also discovered Dr Octavia Cox on YouTube and she has some wonderful commentary on Jane Austen’s books, the culture, class, and other details which have been enhancing my reading.

Hi Marissa

I love your Video - I wish I lived close to Strand Book Store but I live too far away from there.

Now if I went in a Bookstore that was nothing but Cook Books I would end up buying a couple of them.

I am not reading a Jane Austen book and I do have all of her Books. I love Jane Austen.

I am reading The Women by Kristin Hannah. This book is so so good.

Your Son is so cute and so adorable.

Take Care & Happy Reading

These are all so beautiful! Love an adventuring Jane Austen July. I've read mostly retellings/Regency historical fiction but I'm also reading Evelina and it is so lovely. I got a head start and read Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion in June, so now I'm going to read Mansfield Park.

I really like the way you did your vlog. I am enjoying Jane Austen July so far. I read Persuasion (I am easing my way into Sense and Sensibility - it isn't my favorite either.) I also read a short (Hourly History) biography. But my best challenge so far is reading books about Jane Austen and her time. I completed Jane Austen Embroidery, a lovely book even though I don't embroider; Love and Marriage in the Age of Jane Austen, which was excellent; and am currently reading Jane Austen: The Price of Happiness, very good so far.

I've just finished 'Jane and Me: My Austen Heritage.' by 5x great niece - Caroline Jane Knight. It wasn't really for me: not badly written but I have no interest in the author's own life and there wasn't enough about Chawton and the Austen/Knight families to engage me, overall.
