I live in the mountains of southeastern Brazil. Thanks to the increased supply of food due to the introduction of wild boars into our forests about a decade ago, the population of jaguars (Onça Pintada) has been growing at an alarming rate! A couple of fishermen were killed this year. We can hear its frightening roar far away in forests or near rivers.

I’m from Colombia and I visit often, I’ve been to some parts of the Amazon and I have never nor will I ever even dip a toe in the river. Besides there’s way more than just caimanes to worry about when you’re in the Amazon 😂
