My path crossed with this lovely hedgehog 🦔

Remember I mentioned that I haven't seen hedgehogs in a while? Well, I have finally! Very chuffed.

He or she's a cutie! My father had them in his garden when he was a child in Germany. He considered them a sign of good luck. Here in Michigan, we do not have any indigenous hedgehogs but some people have them as pets. They're legal to own here but not so in many others due to escaping.

I’ve saw them once in New Zealand on a holiday. We have Echidnas here in Australia.

It's unusual to see them active during the day, they do most at night. As a good friend of gardeners they eat lots of slugs.

Yeah!..what a nice animal!! I have not seen this animal before..they look cute. walking slowly and smelling for nice plants.
