People back in the day, build things with love and care, with best materials and method at the time, and build it to last hundreds of years with the mindset that their next generation can reuse it and didn't need to build a new one.
People now, build to only last 50 years at most, because it's business, the faster it breaks, the more houses/buildings people will buy.

The name of that pavilion called Guanyin, it meant Goddess.

In the old days, people do things in a way that didn't make economical sense in the eyes of a modern day capitalist. So it is not China that we should point fingers to for having produced some dirt-cheap, subpar products, it is the combination of international Capitalism and the lack of regulations that should take the blame.
