The Battery meter showed a fully charged battery. I very much doubt that you saw any power increase when you did charge the battery, The radio does have a great display!

That user interface seems extremely similar to a btech 25x2 dual band radio. I'm sure the actual manufacturers may be close if not using each other's UI elements, great review!

Unusual it does additional bands but I'm sure we can't use the two extra ones here. Bit pricey but I like the big screen.

Have it. Agree with all points except the battery. Even without TX it's out of power over night on standby..

I use the qyt kt8r which is basically the same and have to say its not bad as a back up or one to leave in the car

Hello. Did you test the sensitivity of this model with the Aliexpress Signal Generator? I'm curious to know if these models are sensitive like the other hts on the market, and if in case of reception this power bar shows the level of the received signal as a yaesu FT3DR.

The battery may not be fully charged, but the voltage is displayed on the main menu, and it was putting out 7.8V. In other words, your radio shouldn't have been outputting that low. With a color screen, it's bound to be eating into that battery's voltage. In short, it's a good radio to avoid. If I were going to be making a radio like this, I would make the battery thicker in the back and below. Then I would increase output on HIGH to 8W and 4.5W on MEDIUM and 3W on LOW. Finally, because batteries aren't available for the Jianpai in the U.S., you're essentially buying a disposable radio. When the battery fails, toss the entire radio into the trash because you can't buy one anywhere.

Can 350-390MHz band be lowered to the 300 Mhz range to transmit on the SatCom uplink frequencies?

How to use 2tone or 5tone encode? Do you know how?

It's best to use CHIRP to program the radio, except you're not able to set the ANI code in CHIRP. You can in the original software, but the originals software will read data from the radio, but won't write the data back to the radio for some reason. I like the scramble option, it works like a charme and no one can eavesdrop.

How did you get it to display your call sign... 😮😮

Careful with the color display. I bought a Wouxun KG-UV9K explicitly for doing satellite work. During daylight hours. The display on this HT is TOTALLY UNREADABLE in daylight operations. My cheap Baofeng UV5Plus has at least a readable display in daylight. Buyer beware!

The scan function is also very bad, and you hear the squelch on every channel, even if you set the squelch to 5 or 6.

Illegal in Australia. All baofang radios are prohibited from use in Australia, this would be the same.
