How to manually program a repeater frequencies and save in memory channel number in the quad Band QYT KT8-R. Software programming gives more capability with assigning alpha tags, but manual programming will get you up and going fairly quickly!

Hello I purchased one of these radios and figured out how to program a channel name without using a computer all you do is when it is in channel mode go to the channel you want to program put the menu on #27 rotate the channel knob on top or use the up and down arrows to choose the letter or number you want when you have the one you want press the #-key on the radio to advance to the next character when you are finished press the menu button then the exit button

I bought the Radtel version of this radio (RT-4B). As soon as I turned it on I noticed that the screen was crooked and canted slightly to the left. Then when scrolling through the menu, the up/down buttons would jump past several menu items. Sent it back. Whatever name is on it, it's not ready for prime time. I alos thought the side buttons felt and looked kind of cartoonish. I do have a Radtel RT-490 which is a great radio. I am watching Radtel though. I like their designs and their use of the standard Kenwood K2 programming cable.

This video seems to have the same voice is about things! It also seems to have the same feeling that it will tell you everything that the menus are but I won’t tell you any better speech what’s inside the menus as far as I can tell! Do any of these Chinese radios have full of a speech?

Why is it that I don't see too many youtube videos on this radio if you seem to love it not the case for many other people? Are the manuals good and thorough with how to program it, detailed? Oh and on Amazon not one review, thats very telling

I find it depressing. It would look better if you can change the frequency display into channel names, much better to look at
