Batman: "Dick needed to bring the murderer of his parents to justice"
Wonder Woman: "So that he would turn like you?"
Batman: "So that he wouldn't"

Batman & Robin are the literally definition of "alone they're great but together they're unstoppable"

"Batman exist to make sure no little boy will lost his parents in a dark alley.
Nightwing give the hope that this little boy... Can move on, and not be consumed by Tragedy, unlike Bruce."

I really wish Frank Miller had written only the Dark Knight Returns *AND* Year One, then retired completely from DC

Wait, people don't get this? I always thought was the fundamental truth of Batman and Robin's relationship!

I've never read a Batman comic but every TV show I've seen with Batman and Robin makes it blatantly clear that Batman understands what Robin is going through and wants to give him the opportunity for justice Batman never had. Also, Batman wants to give him a family because he's a nice guy who's paying kindness forward and that's what traumatized orphans need.

Yeah I hate what Miler did to Dick in his comics

On simpler words: Robin is Batman's son.

Just that, if the LEGO Batman Movie wasn't clear enough, then you are the one clearly wanting to see something else.

I don't know if you'll read this, but I think that the only Batman Miller stories that hold up are Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Year One.

In a lot of ways Batman needs Robin more than Robin needs him.

I had a feeling Frank Miller was on crack when writing the comic.

As for Dick Grayson, I 100% agree. Dick is indeed one of the most important characters in the Batman mythos and his relationship with Batman helps to showcase so much of Batman's personality and his compassion towards others, something that modern comics end up forgetting or just complety ignored. Although I admit that, for me, their relationship only became interesting after Dick left Batman (who I prefer when he is a loner who occasionally works with others), since showcase Dick's evolution, with him embracing his full potential and deciding to get out of Batman shadows and become his own hero.

when it comes to frank miller I personally think outside of Year one and Dark knight returns the Rest of his batman stuff is just Insane and should't be taken all that seriously. almost like a parade

Miller's Grimderp Batman works in TDKR precisely because we don't get to see the kind of depravity and cynicism that led to Batman driving a tank through the streets of Gotham and trying to commit suicide by F1 race. It gives us a very interesting ElseWorlds-type story about what could happen to a character that always teetered on the edge of going too far.
Every work that expands on that Batman's story just undermines the impact by replacing the imaginary fill-in-the-blanks with utterly cartoonish nonsense.

I agree, but the recent way Dick and Bruce are treated is appalling, and their relationship isn't explored, also, Bruce seems more abusive since 2000s with him hitting his kids.

Frank Miller has a ... Mixed track record with Batman. Year One is okay from what I remember and The Dark Knight Returns is pretty solid characterwise, for Batman at least.

All star was rat food.
