I love your "only things Jane Austen would use" journal challenge idea! As soon as you said it, my wheels started turning. What ELSE could people have put in their journals during that time? I'm already a stationary minimalist and try to steer clear of buying too many stickers. Instead, I reuse magazines and paper scraps and "stuff" from my everyday life like tags and wrappers. I understand your desire to keep things simple! So sticking to just pen and paper would be great. But if you DID want to incorporate some 3D elements, what about pressing flowers into the notebook? I Jane would have loved that :) Also, I tried to research the history of adhesives/tape. Glue and tape were around then, but I don't know how widely available they would have been in a common person's home. They were more for industry or medical purposes. I picture Jane just sticking in post cards and letters from pen pals or postage stamps though! Sorry for my long ramble, but you inspired me!

Beautiful set. I am a new subscriber. I met you on Judy's live. I am so excited that I found you. I have been wanting to do Calligraphy for a long time. I love paper of all kinds and love pens. I have allot of various pens and nibs but no clue How to use them. Blessings and Hugs 🤗

I have a J.Herbin glass pen I primarily use for ink sampling, but a couple of years ago I bought a Serendipity pen (an Australian company) that I love. It has an ink reservoir so it writes for over a full a5 page. I wanted to purchase another but last time I checked the company was so longer making dip pens. A shame!

Thank you for this lovely video. Very inspiring. I believe there is research about the various types of ink used in Jane Austen's time. Your challenge sounds fun and nourishing. Would love to see your writing box set up for this too. Would you also write in a Jane Austen era handwriting style?

Yes dip pens are very Jane Austen style. You re right. I have the first one you presented but as a left-handed maybe it s me but i think it hard to use... i can t wait to see your writing box set up! 😁

p.s. there are hacks for refilling most disposable pens out there. I found many on youtube.
