“That’s ok, you don’t have to listen to them” is my favorite Mitchie quote. Calm like a 💣

I learned to Ollie 20 years ago with the sliding method, but I’ll trust the only human who’s done a 1260, thx

Been skating since I was a kid and I’m not bad on flat ground, I can do tres and impossible and things of that nature…. But this tip changed everyone of my tricks. The pop is so much higher and cleaner it makes all of my tricks look so much better. Thank you!

As a 30 year old clumsy fool. You make me want to get a skateboard, admittedly its just to move faster than walking.

He’s right. I first learned Ollie’s by sliding in the 90’s and after a few years of skating it my Ollie evolved by just popping straight up like he’s saying. Instead of going forward with it using your momentum and popping up you actually getting a really good looking Ollie. 😊

At 43 I am reworking my entire Ollie from my teens thanks to you. Always wished I had the seasoned homie who knew the tricks.

The "slide" seemed to work from time to time, but it was most likely that I wasn't sliding the way I thought, and actually doing this accidentally...these videos make so much more sense than anything else I've ever watched

I used to have that mindset when starting to skateboard. Your drill on this is exactly what helped me progress.

they always told me the higher I want to ollie the closer I have to put my feet together, so I have enough room for the bigger slide 😅 I learned it's all in the pop eventually, unfortunately at the age my hips started to pop too

You have an amazing ability to narrow down the mechanics of movement, and are equally articulate in your explanations. At 36 i cant help but wish this level of tutorial was widely available when i was a teen. Props brother

Yeah I think people focus too much on sliding the front foot, I know I did when I was learning.

The biggest help for me was to try and bring my knees as high as possible after I popped the board. The board can only go as high as you let it. The slide came naturally after that.

I agree with you again young man. I've been popping Ollie's for 40 years. I've tried every technique in the learning process. And I agree your front foot doesn't need to slide forward, unless you want to tweak it out a little for style, or you might need to land something with your nose down. I pop my board, turn my front ankle to get the steepest angle possible, and follow my front for into a landing onto whatever. There's no real slide needed, but friction between your front shoe and the board is needed. Your fooIt might need to move a little to make an adjustment. But don't focus on that. Just follow your foot and keep it as close to the board as possible. Great tip. The Ollie is a fundamental and should be learned by everyone...
