Mystery of Poverty Point & Civilization X

Roughly 3,700 years ago Civilization X (we don't know who) built one of the most important cities in the ancient U.S...and the world. I attempt to make the best video possible on the lost history of Poverty Point. I show it was once on the Mississippi, once looked different, today's alignment, give a tour, the Exodus, show some artifacts and blab way longer than intended.

R.I.P. Chuck. I hope you found out the answers to all these secrets of the past. Wish you could make another video on it

Absolutely riveting stuff!! My seventh grade history teacher made all of history into this great, fabulous story...never ending! I hear that same passion in your videos. Thank you.

Hopewell or Adena did stuff like making big earth formations where the town mounds would be shaped like pictures, with astronomy links. This fits the pattern for them.

Thanks for showing this.

You are good at finding them also. I keep find a lot of your videos have stuff in them that a lot of people didn't know was even there.

Been going through your series on ancient sites in the USA. Really enjoy it. Keep it up.

Friendly tip: invest in a studio microphone! You’ve got a good voice let’s hear it in HQ!

My Moms Grandad lived over in the area. She grew up playing on those mounds and there’s a cave that was on his property in the area where they would find artifacts as a kid.

I know you probably won’t see this Chuck. No youtube in heaven or whatever but I think it’s shaped like a dragon fly now. I finally got to go and the entire time I was there I was surrounded by dragon flies. It was so beautiful. Just wish I could have shared this with you. I sure thought about you a lot since your channel is what made me interested in mounds. ❤

Fascinating and a very interesting location given what was happening in the South America / Mexico regions before and during the timescale. Great work as always.

Nice, I like the idea that it was a full circle. The Mississsippi river has certainly had major floods and its course has been changed in the past. Cahokia is a good example of this, the river having once been closer to the site, but it has since changed its course and the oxbow bend was bypassed.

If it was not a full circle, then I would note the similarity in shape to Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Canyon.

The geography and similar ancient round structures in the region make me think it was originally round also.
