Here’s are 12 hidden mechanics No Man’s Sky never tells you about. No Man’s Sky is massive, that’s at least something we all know from the start. But even if you follow the Atlas path, there are definitely a load of helpful hints and even game changing features you can miss along the way.

use your ship to hold a stack of elements as opposed to stashing an individual item like a gek charm. your ship can hold 500 units in one slot, while your suit only holds 250. basically you can free up 2 slots in your suit by transferring 2 stacks of the same element to one slot on your ship

Thanks for telling me things that the game did in fact actually tell me. Or could have been figured out after 2 seconds by any human being over the age of 3.

Many of the problems that this game had upon release have been fixed and much content and systems have been added. It runs fine on my PC and is an amazing game. The only crash (CTD) that I had was fixed by emptying the shader cache folder and re-starting twice.

Another Tip or thing to note at least: ExoSuit only stacks 250 per slot while Starship stacks 500 per slot.

I GOT ONE!! stacking any upgrades next to one another if they are in the same category (cooldown, focus beam, burst shot) they further boost the items total effect

One tip, at least so far in my experience, moons have the same number of ? locations as a typical planet but they are many times smaller so finding them takes much less time.

If you're grinding for those upgrades, find a moon with a decent atmosphere and you're almost never more than a 2 minute walk from a new destination or, if you have plenty of plutonium, it's a 5 second hop in your ship.

I found out about all of these in LITERALLY my first hour of gameplay. Also it does tell you this stuff. Try reading the blue pop up bubbles.

Absolutely none of the tips mentioned on this list apply as "hidden mechanics".

Wish they'd add a decent system map. You can land on a planet to avoid any attacking ships too, useful if you're near a planet and get scanned.

Hint: The Aircraft's storage material stacks are double of what the exosuit is

If you fly higher in the atmosphere you'll go faster than if you're one to the ground meaning you reach destinations in less time

there are about 30 language learning bubbles of light in the Atlas room that almost no one knows about

Building Upgrade components in the inventories that affect the same attribute next to each other (left, right, up or down; not diagonal) will give a bonus to effectiveness. Components properly grouped together in this manner will have highlighted border around them inventory. Youtube search "no man's sky inventory management."

didn't mention anomalies, which if you find is a station with human language speaking aliens that will point you to shortcuts to the center of the universe or give you fuel elements or point out atlas path systems.

I didn't know about the flashlight. Thanks :-)

The very first one you mention is just wrong. It tells you at the bottom right of the screen, where it tells you everything, to press P to name you discoveries.

when travelling around a planet, if you go into orbit you can travel around it so much faster.
