You never took it out of off-road mode for all of your acceleration tests (the rest of the test shows the digital gauge cluster with the compass in the middle which means it is in off-road mode). I don't usually think drive modes make much of a difference, but in this case on a Mazda, Off-Road mode dulls the throttle response for smoother transitions when you are off-road and tries to reduce any wheel getting too much torque and therefore slipping on what it thinks is a loose surface. Re-doing the test in normal mode would probably make a difference and maybe get rid of some of the weird noises you were noting (though it all sounded good to me!).

Honestly I just got a pre owned 21 Mazda cx 5 grand touring reserve. And the fact even the smaller truck is wrapped in leather everywhere heated front and rear seats air condition seats in the front heated steering wheel the car just feels solid built all for under 30k is awesome. I might look at getting another Mazda really impressed me

To me, it's the nicest looking mid size SUV out right now. The turbo s just makes it even better.

I have never owned a Mazda. I will investigate that model.

Just get the trim one above the base. Usually always the best bang for the buck. In this case, $47k gets you basically every feature I would want. The base engine is still plenty powerful, and despite the higher power rating on this turbo-s, the 0-60 is less than a second quicker than the base 3.3t.

I own a Turbo S Premium (best value) and have nearly 2000 miles in it. The power train still has some quirks but it's vastly improved from the early days of the CX-90. It's very comfortable, has the space we always wanted in our former CX-5, and one I got used to the extra heft, is a fun to drive as the CX-5 is. Oh, and it get's better fuel economy than our Sig CX-5 Signature got. My wife and I love it.

I zeroed in on the CX90/70 after I got rid of my '19 X5 when the transfer case, differential, engine mounts, and thrust arms all broke at 43k miles ($14, 500 in repairs). I generally really like Mazda styling and was hoping the CX70 was going to look like a bigger CX50, but instead it's the 90, which looks more like a melted bar of soap. It drives better than the BMW, as all Mazdas do, and has good steering feel (for eps) but the UI is a generation behind and the engine doesn't feel nearly as strong as the numbers would suggest. Also, there are signs of cost cutting such as how everything below the arm rest on the doors, the center line on the dash, and C pillar back is hard plastic. Ultimately, I ended up with an Aviator which has a far superior interior in finish and quietness, stronger motor, and drives exactly like what it is: a quiet luxury car. It's not as sharp as the Mazda, but it's not supposed to be and that's fine by me.

Since it does not have the third row, Mazda should drop the price a bit. I think the cx-60 would be more my style (smaller vehicle, same engines, probably a little more oomph and sportiness).
A real two row.

I’d pay 57k for this. Because it’s so well executed.

Yes, the new Mazda CX70 & 90 are luxury vehicles like reliable BMW’s.

The rotary knob is what made me buy the cx90. The only commodity brand that offers the rotary knob for infotainment screen, makes panning and zooming in/out of maps easier than touchscreen, and is faster when scrolling through song tracks.
And you can do this all while resting your arms on the armrest and not moving an inch

Just drove the 2.5 plug in hybrid. It felt harsh. I wasn’t blown away

12volt outlet is great for air pump use to blow up air mattress when camping.

Lower trim 70s and 90s are very good cars for the power train. You don’t really notice the extra horsepower on the Turbo S models. $42k for a preferred CX90 is a good price for the car. Wait until the preferred CX70 release at the End of Year

When testing the acceleration, put the vehicle in sport mode, it's a bit quicker and it sounds better. It probably doesn't have premium fuel either, which required to get that extra HP. When I went to test drive one, I asked them if it had premium fuel and he said no. I told the guy it might be a good idea to do so, it will help sell the vehicle. DAH!! Also the screen is touch enabled when using Apple Carplay or Android Auto. If Mazda doesn't end up bring back the 6 in the next couple years, I am getting a CX-90 most likely. I prefer the nicer look of the 90 on the outside, the 70 has sportier trim. Though I do actually like the wheel design better. Either way you can just put down the third row to get more cargo room. I don't really get why they did the CX-70.

Mazda has definitely come a long way as a car company. Especially 1) After they ended their partnership with Ford. And 2) When Toyota bought a stake in the company.

In an era when car companies are rolling out overpriced piles of junk, Mazda has been doing the opposite. Call it a niche make, if you will. But the CX 70 and 90 are perfect examples of solid cars at reasonable prices.

Overall, I think Mazda nailed it here. And where other manufacturers are putting small turbocharged 4-cylinders in this segment, I'm glad that Mazda is sticking to their guns and offering a 6-cylinder.
