I just bought a Soul Red two litre RF. it’s fantastic. I’m 69 years young and it’s my first sports car!

So tough. When the top is down, soft top for sure. When it’s up, hard top for sure.

Soft top easier on the money when mechanical failures inevitably happens. Freedom at its best.

Soft top. Lighter and a true open top.

The ability to quickly put the roof up and down made the soft top a no-brainer for me. Just the other day it started to drizzle while I was driving and I got it secured at a stop sign in ~2 seconds. I agree that the RF looks great, but nothing beats the soft top convenience for me, plus the visibility in the soft top when down is better too.

I rented both the soft top and RF back to back on Turo. Going into it I had a heavy preference for the RF based on looks and the security. My wife and I were surprised how much we loved the softop more. With the top down, wind buffeting is noticeably less in the soft top than the RF. Also, I enjoyed the 360 unobstructed view with the soft top. The RF has buttresses with slightly hinder that “open and free” feeling that you get with the soft top. Either way, you can’t go wrong because the driving dynamics is superlative for both

I have a 22 RF and I love it. The only issue I have is the design that causes water droplets to remain in the area behind the rear window/rear third light area after a rain or with morning dew. It's the design of the hard top that keeps those water droplets or moisture in that area even when you are driving. The wind does not circulate to blow those droplets away. That being said when you put the top-down and the rear window goes into the body then that body design causes the water droplets that may be right behind the rear window to be pelted into the interior when you're driving. I would assume that with the soft top the water droplets or whatever tends to blow away and dries that area quicker in the wind. I guess you may have to have an RF to really understand what I'm talking about after my convoluted story LOL.

hard top. It saved me from losing my head.

I like how the RF looks with the top up. I don’t like how it looks with the top down. I got the soft top.

Soft top. So simple to operate, and the sound of the rain on the canvas is so relaxing. I've been driving a '97 Z3 for about 6 years. Thinking on getting an ND MX-5.

I feel like it's super important to mention that you can't put a roll bar on the RF. That means no three-point harness. That means no track days. They do make a roll bar for the RF but it means the top can't come down anymore because it breaks the I just feel like if track days are important to you then you really need to know that. 👍

Got the soft top. Lighter, easier to operate, significantly cheaper and I prefer the way it looks with the roof down but having said that there’s nothing wrong with the RF

Rf all the way 👍
I bought it new in 2019, and I still have it 😉 35k miles on the clock so far and the engine is a beast.
Only issue I've had is the window mechanism, the wire cord WILL rust, causing the pulley to seize. I changed both for peace of mind and I also store a tarp in the boot should any malfunction occur.

For a car where "lightness" is such a huge benefit, the soft top is definitely best for the true enthusiast. But I greatly prefer the look of the RF. Then again, I'm also that weird person who would want a Miata but never put the top down. I actually wish they'd just make a non-convertible version of the RF.

Just took delivery of my 2024 Soul Red Crystal Metallic MX5 GT soft top🚘. It's a sexy little beast!! When I see her in the driveway, I can't believe she's mine😊❤

I like to keep cars a very long time and worry the soft top will require replacement at some point. I know the hard top will require maintenance, though... I would be happy with either.

I had an RF about 6 years ago and I am looking to get another one soon!! My first Miata was an ND1. I love the fast back look of the hardtop, but the soft top looks great too. Classy roadster. Fun cars to drive.

I have a white RF. The hardtop made it an easy choice for a daily-driver, and it makes me feel less exposed when driving in busy city streets while the top is down. Less pure? Maybe, but if this is a compromise, it's one I'm happy to live with

I do have a Miata but an older one! My friend bought a RF hard top and yes it look nice but you dont have the same spirit of soft top! So the soft top you have this spirit of driving in the wind all open feeling free with a big smile on your face! You cant beat the feeling!
