This is a quick redo of the mpg test we did with our 2.7 liter Ecoboost v6 f150. The first test we did we achieve 26 miles per gallon but the start-stop was not working. we did the same route with the truck to see how much fuel start-stop really saves.

Great vid, The truck estimates is saying if you continue this way, this is what you are averaging; So yes it could have 2 to 3 miles per gallons additionally. For instance If I'm on the road consistently for say 1.5 hours and it shows currently 23 mpg's and I stop off a Hwy fill up. And I calculate at the pump and pump comes back 22 mpg's or at times it may come back as it's done to me at 24 mpg's. That is good accuracy.

Sounds like that 10 speed make a big difference.

New 22 with the 2.7 EcoBoost and love this truck. In the 1200 miles I have put on it my best
Mpg was 28.9 which is pretty amazing. My previous truck was a 2018 with the 3.3 Duratec engine. Best I ever got with it was 25mpg. Good truck but the 2.7 will run circles around it and get
Better mileage.

I have an ‘18 f150 stx with the 2.7 and I get an AVERAGE mpg of about 23! It’s absolutely phenomenal, especially for a full size truck. I do a lot of hwy driving and definitely less city driving, but I am very impressed. Important to note though that I have no 4wd just the 2wd option so that does indeed help mpg a bit.

I noticed that on my F150 2018 2.7 I have better fuel economy than leaving it in normal mode rather than eco mode. Am I the only one with this result?

I'm just wondering how start/stop tech effects the long term reliability of this small displacement turbo engine. What happens to the oil pressure when the engine is cut off....is the turbo still receiving oil in the off cycling? 🤔

Have you experienced a random drop in mpg with your 2.7? I went from 20-25 mpg in town to 10 and I'm hypermiling driving like a grandpa. Have you seen this before?

Why doesn’t Ford offer the 2.7 in SuperCrew 4x4 w/ 6.5 bed??? WTH, BS!!
That’s the configuration I’m looking for!

You were seriously hyper-miling, never exceeded 1500-1600 RPM. That's how you got 27 MPG and that's fine, but I'm far more interested in seeing how the 2.7 does in natural real world driving, the way most people actually drive and over a full tank, not just a few miles. I appreciate the effort, but this isn't very helpful.
