A Muslim cleric wearing a thobe and turban was harassed by a Turkish man in Istanbul’s Fatih district on Sunday for his choice of attire.

I was in Turkey 🇹🇷 last week I was stopped and searched by police because some random lady from a bar called the police because she was suspicious of me and my friend. She thought we were Syrians (we are U.K. citizens of Bangladeshi background on holiday) Wallahi It felt like I was in Israel we were made to face the wall and searched and asked for our ID etc. Police were brutal but let us go once they confirmed we are not Syrian. I feel I can practice my religion in U.K. better than a Muslim country like Turkey this is a sad reality. Thankfully we met many Turkish people there who were extremely friendly and some were very sad to hear the treatment from their police and citizens. Peace❤️

Just putting it out there, muslim men and women follow the relegious ruling on clothing not because they are forced to, but because they choose to obey Allah's commands. To believe and obey or go against these commands is their choice, also what exactly makes the western form of clothing/morals somehow "better/superior" to African or Middle eastern countries?
