Drywall Cut-Out Tool VS Oscillating Multi-Tool

They both have their strengths depending on the application.

I’ve used both. I think it depends on the situation… the oscillating tool, in my experience, creates less dust though and could cut through stuff “if” need be.

I own both.. we use the drywall cut out for trim off work/ cut out and multi for the rest

Drywall tool for outlets and light fixtures, multitool for everything else

Cut-out tool is much faster if you have to cut out large area or a lot of walls. For small holes like that, oscillating tool is good enough. it cuts nicer. It's also more versatile. If you are not going to work on drywall much/often, just get an oscillating tool. or just a jab saw if you only work on drywalls every once in a million year.

That's a BS video. You can use a cut-out blade so much better than this video. He is deliberately making uneven lines
