Yes, I have seen. School District asked to pay for things besides field trips. The list includes things like tutoring, dances for highschoolers not just the prom the prom of course yes she would pay for but I don’t mean just the prom. I’m talking about regular dances, concerts, etc..

Here’s the secret: the district puts a clause in our contract that stipulates *and related duties* meaning that they do make us work for free. For example, open houses, specialty interest meetings, and graduation/promotion ceremonies in the evenings are required, but unpaid. School sanctioned tutoring sessions beyond our contract hours are also unpaid, unless you get specifically hired. Then they have to give you secret complicated codes to put on your timesheet that may or may not be working or for the amount stated. So many things get unpaid.

Here’s the kicker: my district offers free tutoring that very few use!

Did I get on the dumb threads this morning? Teachers are overworked and under paid, often working hundreds of hours unpaid just to fulfill the expectations of their work already.

They’re trying to make ends meet, and you want to give them extra unpaid hours? You know nothing about it!

But tutoring is also an extra that they don’t have to offer you.

If you don’t want to pay then don’t do it.
