'Bit Weird?!' Kevin O'Sullivan Reacts To Russell Brand Baptism In River Thames

Talk's Kevin O'Sullivan reacts to Russell Brand describing his baptism in the River Thames as a “profound experience”.

The 48-year-old previously said the baptism was an “opportunity to leave the past behind and be reborn in Christ’s name”.

It comes months after Brand was accused of rape and sexual assault by several women during the height of his fame between 2006 and 2013 – which he has strongly denied.

The accusations first surfaced in a joint investigation by the Times, the Sunday Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches.

Brand, who starred in films including Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him To The Greek, told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that the allegations were “very hurtful”, adding: “I deny any allegations of the kind that have been advanced.”

Baptism and following Jesus is very much about Christianity and God. Jesus is God in Christianity (one third of the trinity -Christians believe he was both fully human AND fully God) and baptism is a Christian ritual

I don't think Russel Brand was ever a Budhhist although he studied and showed an interest in all world religeons for a long time, particularly Eastern religeons... he was at Greenbelt a Christian festival about 3 years ago

Also people do convert from other faiths -it isn't unheard of
