Huawei P50 Pro: Hands on

The camera is amazing but with no Google services or 5G and with a sky-high price, Huawei's new flagship P50 Pro offers little to make it a compelling choice over any of its competitors.

What I hate about these reviews about Huawei, it fails to talk about its own ecosystem. You have Gspace that allows google apps to integrate very nicely with Huawei, quick app that intergrates web-based apps or petal search. He fails to talk about its music/video service that is offered to users for virtual free of charge (Watched the latest Matrix film for free when it costs £13 elsewhere). Does not talk about the benefits of petal maps/mail services or its AI services that I have now personally become to depend on. Finally, privacy features such as private space or app/lock and without google services monitor your every move. My problem with using huawei EMUI over the last two years, I will find it difficult to move back to the google ecosystem.

P20 then P30. P30 cracked from many falls. Had each phone for 2 years, well since the P30 is now broken I went back to my P20. It still works great being a little over 4 years old now. Love these phones and looking to get the P50

OMG the P50 pro is so luxurious, I wont even care about 5g or google services because this phone is awesome, camera is top notch and the hardware is just great.

I buy Huawei BECAUSE they don't have google services. If you knew the volume of real-time tracking google does with all its services, you wouldn't touch a phone with google on it either.

Lack of GMS isn't a problem anymore there's g-space which you can use as an alternative gateway to access Google services.

I used to be a blackberry phone user, then tried LG, then bought Asus, and finally tried huawei smartphones and settled with this brand. I started with Huawei Mate 10 in 2018, then in 2020 bought Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5 G and this February 2022, I am buying the new Huawei P50 Pro. Huawei brand is reliable and the absence of 4G is not a deal breaker since our country is not yet 5G. Moreover, huawei is very durable, I gave my Huawei Mate 10 to my brother and he is still using it until now. Likewise, the lack of google playstore does not matter at all since GSpace is available in the App Gallery.

If i had the choice of picking an android phone, it would definitely be a huawei flagship, even with the lack of 5G which i don’t care about, and the Google services which already have alternatives that work properly, it still is a very premium phone and huawei deserves the top spot.

As a p50pro user, I strongly recommend this phone to consumers. I can use google services and I love the harmonyOS.

Huawei would dominate if the Google ban did not happen. Hence why I went back to Samsung after the Huawei P20 lite. Must say, that phone was a tank, but battery life was draining quicker.lasted me almost 4 years.

I think you probably should introduce HarmonyOS to the viewers. P50 pro is not simply a camera phone. Gms and ios will no longer be the only choices for consumers in the future.

I just went to huawei shop today to look for p50 pro, users can access Google apps via its Gspace folder. Camera is great. I will consider this phone bc it can access Google range of apps. Huawei phones wud have been no 1 if it not bc of the trouble posted by the US, thus created an unlevel playing field.

You say we can't get the Hauwei P50 pro here in the US but I can pick up one from Amazon for $1099 base🤷‍♂️

I have p40 pro and I have all the apps all the features, 5G is there, Camera is freaken amazing!!!! My YouTube have no ads. Google services is slightly affected by not making the Huawei "seamless" but you can have the seamless ability when you smart about your apps

Shame there isn't a phone out there without a compromise. HTC at their peak used to make phones that were good at everything
