Crash Type 9 - T-bone collision when one car runs a red light or stop

This type of crash happens when a car runs a red light or a stop sign at an intersection. Usually happens at an empty intersection.

I am 13 and we were going to the beach for spring break yesterday, when a speeding car ran the redlight and we t boned them, there was a 41 year old mother and a 15 year old daughter in the other car and they both were crushed. I cried for so long, and even though they caused the accident, i felt so bad that in the high speed crash, my whole family just walked out of the car, while those two couldn't. I remember it so much, I heard "NO! NO! NO!", than we swerved to the side of the road and my head hit something and knocked me out, a few seconds later, I came to, and there was smoke everwhere, airbags deployed, my little sisters seatbelt didnt work, and she was on top of me, and my Mom was yelling, "Get out of the car". And with all the adrenaline, i never knew that my head was bleeding until much later.

I got in an accident a few days ago and it was a Tbone Collision. We were at a green light in our car and the uhaul sized truck who hit us had a red light but he never stoped. As we were turning left he hit us and I was in the passenger so I felt most of the impact along with the person behind me and my service dog who was also in the car.all I remember was seeing a truck about to hit me when I looked out my window. I am in a lot of pain and have little shards of glass on the whole right side but of my body but at least I’m alive with no serious injuries. 🙏🏼

A few nights ago. A lady blew through her red light at warp 8. Impacted directly with the front driver's side wheel of my F150 4x4.

It happens very frequently here. But I've had a very good habit of paying attention and watching for them, thus able to slow down and avoid a collision. This time was different because it was night, and she was not running her headlights. I wasn't sure what happened until I came to a stop and stepped out to inspect things. She was absolutely invisible.

Thankfully, we both walked away with no blood lost. But while my truck is in the body shop being restored, her car has driven its final mile.

I was driving to work around 6:30 am and a truck pulled up to a stop sign as I was approaching, he slowed down so I assumed he was going to stop but he didn't. I had no time to react or anything and ended up totaling my car. Broke my leg and knee cap and sustained a bad concussion. I thought I was going to die because not only was my body in agony there were other cars approaching, my drivers side facing oncoming traffic. Two cars narrowly avoided hitting me and the other vehicle. None of our lights were working and it was pitch black. A truck was passing by and clipped the side of the truck I hit but he turned around and turned on his work truck lights... Ran over to me and talked me through everything. He was my hero.

I suppose from my recent accident, you could further divide your analytics of Type 9 by lighting conditions. You already distinguished day vs night. But at night, the surrounding scenery plays a role. In my case, it was in a busy suburb, well lit by various businesses and street lamps. That created a steep contrast which made her invisible to me without her own headlights burning. But I do believe that if the setting had been more rural with the traffic lights as the only source of illumination, I then might have seen her and been able to avoid the collision.

I was an Uber driver. I was going through green light. Light was green fire about 8 seconds when I went through it. Other party ran through red light and t-boned the driver at about 40 mph. No way to avoid it because it was tall buildings downtown and I couldn’t tell she was running the light until she broke the intersection. Ruined my life. Ultimately made me homeless for about a year. Uber was my income and nothing was resolved like it was supposed to be.

Happened to me last week on my way to work. Three way intersection. Ended flipping over, knocked out, nothing broken, just a concussion and a few cuts and bruises. Car is totaled though. Waiting on the police report to be available for insurance to take the next step.

I was struck by a girl who ran a red light. She hit me as I was in the middle of the intersection direct to my driver door. It was unavoidable and I saw her headlights a split second before she hit me. It was terrifying and I’m so upset about the situation. She didn’t have a driver license and i don’t think the police issued her a ticket. Since it happened last night i have to wait for the police report. The officer said he put her at fault. She looked like she was drunk but the officer said he didn’t have suspicion to test her. She ruined my Audi I’m so angry 😭

A few days before Christmas my boyfriend was driving, with me in the passenger seat, on a one way street with the right of way and no stop sign for us at the intersection and he was going the speed limit of about 35 mph. This older man completely blew past his stop sign and hit the mid to back of my boyfriend's car on the passenger side. The man was going the speed limit as well and hadn't slowed down whatsoever for his stop sign even though he admitted to us and the cops after that he knew that it was there. When we were hit the car spun until we were facing the wrong way on the one way street and had completely bent a sign into a tree up on the sidewalk. When my boyfriend and I had seen the car as we approached the intersection we had both assumed that he was going to stop and we both realized that he hadn't too late like a second before impact. My boyfriend's car was completely totalled. The other guy had a big truck, so he could still drive it after and I believe it just was basically his lights knocked out and damage to his bumper. The only good thing that happened is that the other guy admitted full fault to us, the cops, and his insurance. So at the very least we are thankful for that.

I was in a car crash on January 31, 2022. I failed to yield on a flashing yellow.
The light was red and turned green for cars going straight (east and west) and flashing yellow for cars going left (east to north) The the truck in front and the big Chevy van between me and the truck both turned left without yielding and I didn’t think much of yielding either. By the time I was facing north I looked to my right again and all I saw was a 2012 Ford Fusion in the right lane going west come and disappear under the window (didn’t swerve, honk, or even attempt to slam on the breaks), and all of the sudden my truck did a 180° and faced south. Her car didn’t go that far, it stopped almost immediately. To this day we still don’t know if she had insurance or not because it wasn’t written down on the accident report.

By the time I unbuckled, shut the truck off, and grabbed my phone, she was already at the other end of the intersection sitting on the ground. She went to the ER for chest pains. Her car was totaled at the scene and my truck was towed because the drive shaft fell out of the transmission. It was totaled 2 weeks later after we learned the frame was busted. The next day when I went to the lot to take pictures of my truck, I saw her car with her accident report still in it. Even though I was considered at fault, I still believe she was somewhat distracted. How can someone not see a pick up truck, a cargo van, and another pick up truck in front. Yet again this did happen in Cottage Grove, MN on 80th street and trying to turn left onto Hardwood Ave, and people turning right to go onto East Point Douglas. There is somewhat of a hill. I didn’t even have to call the cops because an office went straight on 80th and could hear the crash. I remember him saying by the time he looked in the mirror my truck was spinning. By the time I was out of the truck I was walking back to it and I could see the officer having to make a U-turn. Worst part too is I just got my 2004 Ford F-150 Lariet just 3 weeks prior on January 8, 2022

Someone runs a red light and I crash into their car hitting his back wheel on the passenger side. this video helped me calm my nerves since I have been googling all morning and all iI saw was if ur front car has the damage it's more likely that you run the red light and I am certain That I followed the traffic rules. the officer said there is no CCTV and no eyewitness stops by but thankfully a facility confirmed that they have a CCTV that is facing the intersection where the accident happened, So that combine with this video that informed me that anon traffic violators can crash onto the car that runs a red light, The guy who ran the red light changes his claim 3 times, as he was talking to the 911 operator I told him you know you run a red light right? and he responded with yes, I didn't see the light, then we talked again, this time he said I looked down, but when the officers got there he said that his light is green. I am 1000% sure that I have the green light. I am sure because I was at least 30 ft away as my lane have a green light and remained green after the crash happened. Thankfully no one was injured except the cars.

Sir, I can't thank you enough for this information because I was afraid that since I crash into him that they will believe him more than me. But today you Showed me that the reverse could happen, That someone who was following the traffic rule could hit someone who is violating the traffic rules (running the red light)

This happened to me last Tuesday. I was t boned. A guy ran a stop sign and plowed into me going about 50 mph then hit another car. I have injuries from whiplash.

We where driving in Dallas, we had a green light and so we went. Some dude was going 80 through a red light and took the front of our car off. He also hit the car next to us and totaled both cars. He spun off and landed on the median. Surprised because no one was injured. But he told us he was on his way home from church. Took dallas police 2 hours after I called 911. But totaled our car with me, my little sister, and my mom. Shook us up but no injuries.

this is being posted in 2021. I was the passenger in my friend's 370Z when we went through an intersection and went headlight to headlight with a Nissan Murano. this happened on Saturday today is monday. Both cars were totaled and the suv was flipped over. my friend claims that he had a green light as does the lady in the suv. everyone walked away which is incredible because my friend and i were going to turn right at the intersection but got rerouted and were told to go straight and already slowed down the lady hit us at a speed over 40 mph in a 25. i am unsure what could have been done diffrent as i was looking down at the directions on my friends phone.

I was in a T-bone accident yesterday night and the light just turned green and we were already driving through the intersection when a man in a white trunk flies through a red light and we hit the passenger back tire and it sent me and my friends who were in the car into a semi trucks path and we got hit again. The driver we hit drove off and tried to hide the truck. We later found the truck and found the trunk with missing tiers and the entire back end destroyed.
