Hunter attacked by bear he thought he killed

A black bear mauled a hunter who thought he had killed the animal at Oak Glen in the San Bernardino Mountains.

That last comment, "Bear attacks are rare" is so stupid! It would make sense if it was about an unprovoked attack, but they just got done saying he injured the bear and then walked up to it.
