Pearl was manipulated by the game to become a drone with varous limitations and the purpouse to help eight as a secondary defense resource.
So, hypothetically speaking, if our character got grayscaled and thus pulled into the memverse, it is possible that our main character just became eights player camera system.

They definitely excelled in character design and level design. While the story is meh, it's a replayable mode that has decent ost. Octo expansion still better. 6-7/10

Ngl its really fun, but I really wisued tbe story wasmt locked mostly by unlockables. Octo expansion was so great imo becuase of its amazing story progression, while this felt a lil flat. Though, at the end its quite fun! And hey, with everything in the expansion pass included, it was around only 10 dollars so.

Explanation for how you become Agent 8:

On the train trip to Inkopolis Square, Neo 3 began zoning out, and when this happened, they started to get pulled into the Memverse. I presume that they became a Palette, so it's up to 8 to reconfigure the Palettes. That's where we go into 8's POV, where we control 8.

And how we head back to the real world, like I read from another comment, I imagine it's like "Imagine Inkopolis" or smth like that, since Neo 3 is now stuck in the Memverse, so they 'replay' the Turf Wars in their memories, dreaming about it. It's only my guess, since we are still technically Neo 3.

It's really cool to see Splatoon as a well-established Nintendo franchise, after its original Wii U release! My favorite character is Shiver; she's so cool and nonchalant; just imagine her as a playable character!!
