I think both being a Manager and a Leader is being able to have ascendancy over other people. The major difference is simply that Leaders tend to be more emotionnal and people centric, while Managers tend to be more analytical and task oriented. Personnaly I feel like I'm able to be both and I switch from one to the other by letting my emotions loose or restraining them.

I also think there has to be a certain level of arrogance to be a great leader. Not someone who is very cocky, but if you do not believe in your self, no one else can.

I plan on making a leadership series too, great video.

wow. So me and another kid are the captains in the wrestling team, I just realized that He's a FANTASTIC Manager, he keeps everyone in check but has little acceptance for failing, I see myself as a leader, I encourage, lead by example, and when people mess up I try my very hardest to ALWYA lend a helping hand. Even to kids that aren't on my team but if I see them outside in the hallway very upset at themselves. I get shut down half the time but those few times where I HELP people get outta a funk, that's why I do it

From all the people I met and were my influencers you still outrank as the best on all the others, thanks for coming back to us. 1 milion subs will only be the beginning! Hope to meet you in person after three years. Made an exponantial growth, and we both need managers and leaders to have a full construction!

I was evaluating myself during the video. I´m definitely leaning toward the manager side!

+Valuetainment Many of these qualities together show that the manager is to care more for the present execution whereas the Leader looks towards the future and reputation if anything. I don't watch TV all that much but I think one of the best ways this can be seen is in SUITS. Another way to describe Oak/Willow is that the Manager shows off dictation while the Leader expresses his or her empathy. Excellent comparison and thanks for your time and effort!!

Leadership is my choice of who I am. I have tendencies of Managers but mostly leaning towards leadership. It attracts me more because I feel that is my way of expressing myself to my people.

Be a leader is influence people, inspire them, take some risks, have a vision, etc (like Pat), but you need to be a good manager too (or have one). I consider myself as a leader-manager, sometimes more a leader than a manager and viceversa. Thanks for this great video.

Led here through a class on management & leadership. Couldn't help but comment. This presenter is fantastic. I wish I could just have him explain all the concepts in my degree program!

I am more on the leader side, at least i do all that i can, to become one, yet i didn't expected at all, that there was certain manager traits within me. Now, some serious work has to be done on those points. Gona re-listen this episode weekly. Thank you ValueTainment Team.
