Mother Knows Best- Steven Universe/Tangled Parody Animatic

Ever since I saw "From Legs to Here from Homeworld" I knew I had to make an animatic with this song and these characters cause it fits so well! Now I know it isn't original and others have already done it but I started working on this a month ago before them and its been a long and arduous process plus dealing with outside factors. But thank you so much for everyone patience as I posted updates on my twitter and Instagram (listed below!) and receiving loving support. ❤

ALSO I know you guys would be asking this in the comments so ill answer them for you:
-Yes I know, White and Pink aren't the same height but I deliberately changed it so they can easily interact to create funny scenes plus it was easier to reference from the film like certain movements and motions
-Pink's room/tower is not from the show nor canon, I made it up and guessed from the last image shown in "Legs From Here to Homeworld"
-Their Pearls are not present cause why they need to be? This song is good for a private moment like this. Maybe you guys can imagine them quietly waiting outside haha

My favorite part to edit was still White Diamond jump scaring Pink. I love doing fast paced edits/effects, even though it looked a bit goofy when I was editing it (White Diamond was just sliding around the screen like "I'm gonna getcha"). I do think after I added the glow and shadow effect, plus the jerky pop movement that it got that spooky factor I was looking for. Thanks for letting me work on this with you!

I saw like 3 mother knows best animations with white and pink. All of them were very good.

For a first animatic, I think you did a decent job. Your facial expressions are very fun. But i think you could have been more original with your imagery instead of getting shots off the movie. Like "men with pointy teeth" you could have done White using her Pearl to holographically depict such a thing instead of painting it herself. ( though the Greg cameo was a fun touch 👌) To use imagery that gems may be more familiar with, maybe cannibles are a race they know of, spacey imagery-little touches like that may make you more memorable.

The Mother Knows Best reprise after this gave me an awesome idea! Pink and White visits each other and White wants her to return to Homeworld but Pink won’t. The song starts up and White shows her the secret plans of Pink turning into Rose Pink thought she had hidden well. White warns her that as soon as everyone finds out who she really is, they’ll abandon her. Pink says she will (but of course she never does) And disappear!

Been playing Tangled with my little sister and hearing the song reminds me how much I love playing the villain or hero roles plus it been getting me more in to Disney now
