Another form of gaslighting and manipulation. Maia insults and degrades Sasha to make her feel smaller, dismissing her all the while using her own experiences to make her feel so awful for even considering rejecting her own generosity. She then pressures her, making her feel small and like she has no choice like what parents do. Until Sasha finally caves.
Notice in the previous animatics Maia only has red eyes symbolizing her power? Now she is fully glowing red, as if her own stemmed hatred is overpowering her, along with Sasha's negative self doubt.
This is what a master manipulator does. Making the person feel bad while dominating the conversation through their negative feelings so they would reign in control.
Then scarlet streaks fill up the necklace, indirectly showing Sasha who she is in league with now.
And who is in charge.

I don't know why, but this animatic actually gives off a vibe of care, almost? I don't know the full context, but it just seems like there's some kind of care involved.

Mother Gothel to me are the scariest Disney Villain. Why? Because I have met such a person and let me tell you, the scars left behind are horrendous and the trauma echoed through every nice person you met. You kept second guessing their intentions until you find yourself stuck between trusting others or trusting your screwed up experience with one twisted person.

Its kinda scary how in the end she goes inside her necklace. That way she’s always watching what shes doing and who she speaks with. With that info the mother can easily continue manipulating the daughter by knowing which relationships are more important to her .
