I think this is OW players when TF2 players felt when they saw all their favorite TF2 youtubers and streamers ditch it and go to OW the moment it came out. Now its OW fans watching their favorite streamers and youtubers dropping it for Rivals. Its the best comparison i can see from this

For the first time OW is put in a situation were it needs to evolve or die.

If it doesn't evolve it means that Blizzard doesn't care much anymore.

Back when Overwatch was taking over as the predominant hero shooter, Team Fortress 2 had a similar issue. Sometimes games get old, repetitive, or just outclassed by new games. There’s no shame in creators trying to expand their horizons to:
1. Have fun
2. Stay relevant
As long as they’re not actively burning bridges for no reason.

In fact, a TF2 creator basically made the same video explaining that we should be encouraging creators stuck in their niches to do other things so that they can see their potential and not go insane doing the same thing over and over again.

What we should be mad at, like Flats says, is to be mad at ActBlizz because they’re running their game into the ground. We should be banding together to advocate for a better gaming experience.

9:20 is the real problem. Your chat replied “skins” for what’s new and shiny in overwatch. That’s it. Either that or a rehashed mode and half the time now the skins are recolors. There’s just nothing cool or experimental like Overwatch 1 used to do.

The original tweet wasn't even lying though, it was just unlucky that they had said that in chat and then jay had replied with the "we dont talk about ow here" out loud to what he said in game neither side was malicious in what was being said, the real issue was all the fallout from that tweet with people using it as an excuse to air out their grievances (warranted or not) with jay and then jay crashing out and basically saying that this dude was lying just to spread misinformation about me, when in fact it was just their experience when they hopped onto the stream, and that led to people attacking that person for no reason and them deleting their account

Also RE: your point about how “This is the time to start making OW content.” you’re absolutely right. I’ve found some of my favourite new OW creators in the past month, people whose content couldn’t break through the algorithm prior to now because all the big creators were getting that priority.

Abt that tweet, I can 100% see how that could intended for them. I often am not glued to my screen 24/7 and I just listen to a stream in the background. Calling a misinterpretation a lie/defamation is a bit much. I also thin the main problem with Jay now is how he handled the situation crudely an continues to do so

In cases like this, negativity is actually the positive driving force to make OW finally start giving a damn and making people want to play the game again. If there is any hope of OW returning to its roots in becoming the iconic IP it once was, this negative energy stemming from Rivals arrival is the key, as Flats said they will either adapt or be left behind.

Unfortunately, I don't know how much hope I have that the developers and Blizzard will actively get off their ass and make an effort, and on top of that they progress at a snail's pace, the 6v6 "experiment" being a prime example of that. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, I look forward to seeing OW redeem itself, but we'll have to see if that ever manifests, now back to Rivals.

I've only started playing overwatch in the last 2 years and I've started taking it seriously in the last year.

I'm really enjoying the game. The process of learning and getting better has been amazing. Currently in masters 3, I hope I'll hit top 500 next season.

I did try rivals, but it didn't hit me nearly as much as overwatch does.

And it is a little sad to see almost no overwatch content anymore, but I get it. Most of you have been playing ow for 8 years sitting in top 500, I can't even imagine how stale it must've gotten for you. Rivals must be such a breath of fresh air.

I get wanting ow content, but it's INSANE to me that people demand it. You guys do what brings you joy.

My problem right now with both Marvel Rivals and Overwatch communities is that i genuinely feel like they both enjoy talking sh!t of each other more than actually playing the game. Like can i not watch a single video or clip of MR or OW without hearing them talk about how that game is better then the other one?!?

And i don't mean it targeted to this video, this is different is a opinion/criticism video type, im talking about trying to watch a normal gameplay video without listening to the constant beef
