So names...
Sandling, Sand Bar, Shoal (which is made of sand), Dust, Stardust, Sand n Vac, Sand Clear, Power Tool, Fillet Queen, Fillet O Sole, Wet Sand, Dust in My Eyes. Ok, thats enough.
Your video was very good! Entertaing, informative, very well edited, just a pleasure to watch! I know it was a massive process to stitch the vid together, but you did a great job. Bravo and thank you. BTW, the boat came out gorgeous.

Sanding Ovation is clearly the best name for this amazing boat!!

It's not just that I enjoyed the video, the amount of work you dedicated to it is clearly noticeable. Thanks for sharing

I love CLC! I build a 16ish foot cedar strip, bead and cove canoe about 20 years ago. Estimated time to build was 200 hours I think. I spent several times more than that just sanding b/c I wanted perfection, and it paid off. I have several canoes and kayaks and after all this time I’m approaching the tipping point of hours used vs build time for that one boat. Every hour in that boat brings back a flood of building and sanding memories. I don’t recall in detail each trip in that boat but I’ve got the memories of fitting each one of the 30+ strips to the strongback. Sanding was meditative, a labor of love, never a chore many describe it as.

Name the boat. Sandy. It’s a reference to all your Sanding.

In 1999, I decided to either learn to Fly or learn to Sail.. I wish I would have learned to sail, but flying is a one hour vacation I don't do often enough. This insight on your build has given me inspiration to consider it, I have worked in body shops, building amazing machines that have taught me the love of sanding until your fingerprints are virtually gone, I've done plenty of Glassing and used many types epoxy's and urethane's, Thank you for the most valuable thing we have as a species... your time

Taking the time to edit and post videos is daunting. I have trouble posting an instagram post on any kind of regular basis. You are one of the few YouTube channels I follow and I miss you when you don’t post for a while.

So great to see this video. We met you and Ryan at CLC before you had started to build the boat. My husband had finished the Peeler Skiff and was beginning work on the Peapod sailboat which is now finished and on a trailer waiting for it to be moved to its New England home. Your boat turned out to be a real beauty. Hope you are enjoying boating on the Chesapeake.

I saw this land a couple of days ago but it’s been such a manic and crazy week, I saved it to be able to watch on the big screen, with wine in hand, tonight. So glad I did. That was an epic build and an absolutely fabulous result! Looking forward to seeing the full build process, and your adventures in her.

Hi Sophie, my wife and I were walking across the Spa Creek Bridge yesterday evening and saw you in the little power boat! Yes, that was me, saying "I saw your video!". Such a small world. We keep our small cruising sailboat in Eastport on Back Creek.

Great video and great job on the boat. You definitely have cured me of wanting to do this myself. I have the room, I have the tools, I have the woodworking skills, but I hate sanding.

Best video yet, great job. I built the 17 kayak and that was a big job but I still use it 18 years later.

The boat looks incredible! You did a great job on both the boat and the video. One of the most underappreciated aspects of finish work is prep, (i.e. sanding). When people see the beautiful shine in the finish as a glistens back at them, one the key things got it there was all the time hard work spent sanding and attention to the details. Now you’ve been rewarded! Great job!

Enlisting your friends to sand, why didn't I think of that?! This is the best, such an amazing build, I can't wait to see it this weekend! I had the same reaction when seeing this in the catalog but I think I'll need some time after my latest round of sanding to convince myself this is a good idea haha

I've wanted to build a stitch and glue boat for a long time unfortunately I am too old and feeble to do so at this point in life. I liked your narration of the video and the shots you chose to use. Chesapeake Light Craft is a company whose products I admire and the finished product is both elegant and handsome. Thank you for sharing this with us and I look forward to seeing some of the videos of the details.

You did a wonderful job condensing all of the footage into a coherent, well stated, story! Thank you!

Great video. Very comprehensive. I just finished a class for a much less intense CLC kit and you gave a wonderful synopsis of so much! Well done!

Thank you very much for this video. I'm planning on building a strip built kayak. I have been doing woodworking for years and this taught me some of the little things i had not learned it thought of. Mostly about the fiberglass process and the amount of disposables I'll go through.

As for a name for your boat, I think either Sook or Sally. Sook is a mature female crab while Sally is an immature female crab.

From the top of the bay, I wish you all the best!
