We've already seen this with healthcare insurance.

"Oh, 32 hours means we have to offer you healthcare insurance? We'll only schedule out employees for 30 hours a week. They can figure the rest out themselves."

It's like when wayfair tells you there's no shipping prices but all they did was put the typical shipping price on the original price of the item.

Imagine you're struggling to get by and you get your hours cut by 8 hours a week...

And the Democrat workers say " Yes, This sounds Great, Less hours more money "
Until their pay, hours or job gets cut .
Then they Cry & say " What Happened "

When I worked in UK something similar happened. Result: got reduced to a *zero* hour's contact

Very similar issue - when Obamacare kicked in, I got a whole class I taught cut (because I worked just over 30 hours which was the cutoff where the college would have had to pay for my health insurance). So I had to get a second teaching job at a different school. That meant more driving, confusing schedule.. more daycare.. Plus I had to train someone to take over that one class which I taught two other sections of.. super inefficient. 🙄

In my experience with California, if they propose something that on the surface sounds good you need to dig deeper because as explained in this video the truth will come out and it never benefits the individual.

As soon as you say bad idea, California, and New York and Chicago instantly jump into your head, they are the places where good ideas go to die

This is exactly what happened with the “affordable care act” or Obamacare where if you worked more than 40 hours a week your job had to provide you with health insurance. What ended up happening is not more people getting health care, but more people having their hours cut to keep under the 40 hour limit

Honestly though the people who live there and want this to happen so bad are also the ones leaving shortly after things like this are implemented. They want it then they need to stay there and live with it.

We work too much in this country. Many European countries have 6 weeks paid vacation, parental leave, 32 hour avg workweek not to mention single payer healthcare not tied to their jobs. We can do better for the workers in this country and our future. More time with family more time to start business or side hustles.a shorter work week has health benefits too and less commuting etc…

I never thought I would see the day when Mississippi began to look better than California. Well, that day is here 😂

If you want to work less then find a job with those hours, leave everyone else alone.

One summer I worked at a factory with mandatory 9-hour workdays, but sometimes when demand was low, they would close early on a Friday. This would normally be a problem because the last 5 hours on Friday would normally be the time-and-a-half overtime hours.

Long before I got there, the employees and management negotiated a solution to this issue. While the company was only legally required to pay overtime for hours over 40 per week, the company agreed to pay overtime for any hours over 8 per day. So when they closed four hours early on a Friday, only one of those missing hours was an overtime hour.

No government mandate was needed to make this happen, just workers who had the right to quit, negotiating with their employer.

All you get is an extra day off, but that loss of a day can be crippling for most family's
