In Christensen Arms' new film, GONE, legendary hunter and outfitter Jim Shockey reflects on lessons learned during a life spent in the rugged wilderness.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Branlin Shockey, GONE offers an unprecedented look into Jim's life — his family, hunting adventures, sorrows, and the lengths he's going to in order to pay it forward to future generations.

“They’re gone…” is sadly something we are all going to deal with in life. How will we go forward while honoring the memory of loved ones who are Gone?

Here I am, 28, depressed and battling thoughts of suicide. I have help and I will never lose this fight. As I sit here and watch, filled with tears, I’m at a loss for words of how amazing this film is. Some great life advice and a whole new outlook. I’m truly blessed beyond belief and while I have people to make proud, I will also make Jim proud. It’s so crazy how someone else’s life, losses, accomplishments & well being can really impact another. To that, I found my second life. Thanks, Jim.

that young man in Jims office. " I met the man that did all this". That little man gets it. The most touching part of the film.

Go get it, kid. You've got it. 👍🏼

Incredible. Moved to tears. What a man. The world is losing great men like this. An honor to hear a little about your life.

A 76-year-old man cried today. I was totally enjoying the film as I also grew up hunting and fishing with my dad. With the dove in his hands, Jim said, "The eyes"...took me back to my first kills. I can still clearly see in my mind, the eyes of those earliest creatures. Then, there was the sound of rain, yet there was a silence so strong that it broke through the walls I've created to protect my broken heart. There was Nature's beauty and the haunting calls of geese. I cried. Thank you.

"You do get two lives. The second one starts when realize you only get one life." Well stated.

This is a great reflection of what the outdoors means to me, and the passing of that torch to my children.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. Love Love.

My father passed just over a month ago. As I wipe the tears from my eyes I just can’t help but to think this was him telling me “its going to be okay, chase your dreams & become that person you’ve always dreamed of”

Thank you Jim, what an insightful and awesome human being.

Thanks Branlin, and all who made this very personal glimpse into Jim's life available to those of us that also love the outdoors and have felt that kindred spirit for a significant part of our lives. Maybe because I turn 79 next week, your work helps me to feel less alone as I continue the journey of a hunter's life. Please accept my gratitude and respect.

I came for the hunting, but rather got hooked and stayed for the quality of human being he is. Powerful messages and awesome job at depicting this.

I’ve been watching this man since childhood, long before YouTube and the internet were even a thing. He understands the woods the way I do, it’s like our sacred place, where our souls truly belong. Our connection to nature goes beyond any religion or human philosophy... It transcends all of that. Jim is such a wise man, last of a dying breed. I’m incredibly grateful for this film.

As a teenager, I grew up watching Jim Shockey on TNN Outdoors Saturday mornings that my grandmother would record for me on VHS tapes, because she had DISH, and we didn’t.

This is my first time circling back onto paths with Jim. As I’m now 40+ and hitting a stride into my 2nd half of life, this reflection, perspective and trip down memory lane just truly resonated with me. I’ve always just gone 9000MPH and felt immortal and bulletproof, but man…we’re all going to be gone soon.

Mad props for extrapolating the lessons nature provides us, and the heightened awareness of our mortality. This has definitely been one of my favorite watches in a long time 🙏🏻

Beautifully done. You can personally feel the emotion in Jims face when he says "I see her". A true man. Thanks to all who put this production together and look forward to seeing more. Keep hammering.

This is without a doubt, one of the most touching, and personal things I have encountered in my 66 years on this planet. So much of what you said in this film, was taught to me by my own father, who took the time to show me things in the outdoors, and explain a lot of how things lived and died. I admit I became quite emotional watching this, unashamedly so. Thanks Jim.

This is the most emotional and moving video I have ever watched. I met Jim and Eva a few years ago at a Bow Tech event. It was a wonderful experience. I was watching Jims VHS videos that I would rent years ago and would always picture myself following in his footsteps. He is an amazing man with no regrets with the life that he has lived. It’s unfortunate that his soulmate is not there to live the rest of his years with him. He definitely set the bar high in the hunting community!
