Centenary News spoke to the War Heritage Group, an all-party parliamentary body, on their work in Government to support Centenary Commemorations.

We asked Lord Faulkner and the Rt Hon Jeffrey Donaldson, Chairman and Treasurer respectively of the War Heritage Group, on their work in Parliament to encourage the formation of Centenary plans in Britain.

Both voice their concern at the lack of centralised plans by the Government for the forthcoming Centenary and that Britain might be lagging behind other countries already formulating events and national commemorations.

At a grass roots level however, they commend the encouraging signs of community organisations planning to commemorate the Centenary. Both hope that once the Government plans are announced, that they will encourage adults and young people to get involved in learning more about WW1 heritage and to participate in the 2014-2018 commemorations.
