Alright, alright... the college school year is over (or at least nearing an end) and there's a NEW CLASS of graduating high school students WONDERING what to bring with them to college? Today, I'm gonna tell you! When is your last day of school? COMMENT BELOW!

So for incoming college students, or returning students, what items can you leave off your college move-in lists? Let's take a look.

Now, you can type this question "What do I need to take with me to College" into Google or whisper it into your phone so it shows up on your TikTok fyp, but all you're going to get is ENDLESS lists and videos full of things you WON'T actually use at school.

University has changed SO MUCH the past year and a half, so I'm going to let you know indirectly what you actually need to bring, by telling you the most POINTLESS items you can have on your list. At least for my experience, I never used any of these items, so save the space and dont pack them!

Happy Summer!

You should make a “how to take notes in college” video.

Honestly I don't know how much of this you want to store in your brain. I am in college and I I definitely would bring over half of this to school. Y'all buy paper notebooks, different colour pens and highlights they are so so useful.

I would still recommend your own set of plates/bowls/silverware/etc. Even in an apartment setting you aren't guaranteed that your roommates will pull their weight with doing dishes, so it's better in my opinion, to have your own so that you know it will get washed regularly. And if you have the space, keep them in your room. My experience might be different from other people's, but keeping all of those things in your room makes it a little less likely that other people will take and use them.

we don't buy ramen because we're busy, we buy ramen because that's all we can afford 😅😅🤣

Lol okay but if you enjoy reading you can make time to read for fun. Like instead of scrolling on your phone at night you read. Or during lunch or dinner. If you enjoy it. You will make time for it.

Digital vs paper things are definitely up to preference. I’m a college student who uses pencils, paper planners, and coiled notebooks regularly.

I graduated college last year & lived in an apartment and I literally used every single thing you listed on a daily basis... lol

Bro the sad thing is that the majority of the things she didn't use I use like every day at my college lol like what!?

So interesting to see how we all learn so differently. Different notebooks for each class, paper and pens and highlighters, and a physical planner were all things I used every single day for my four years of undergrad. To each their own! Figure out what works best for you and stick to that.

I think a lot of these are different for her since she started her freshman year with covid. like I take all my notes with an ipad but still need pencils especially for exams and handouts that the professors physically give you. also the ramen and freezer meals...she never got the dorm experience and therefore has no clue what dorm life is like

Some of these I agree with, but some of them are just super untrue. Just because you didn’t need them, doesn’t mean you should tell people that they won’t need them. And a lot of these are also really privileged...

i think people eat ramen because it's cheap not because they don't have time to make anything

I also have an apartment at college but having a freezer meal or ramen on standby was a lifesaver for when I had a SUPER LONG day and basically have no energy to cook. But 9 times out of 10 I did make myself something to eat

A good disclaimer is that everyone is different and uses different things! I absolutely used half of these frequently in college. I do get her point that you are convinced to buy all these things in college you don't need, but some of these items shocked me.

Remember everyone, this is based on experience! I'm in college rn and I find myself agreeing with some tips, but finding that some of this stuff I still use. So its all up to you!

I personally use all of this daily so this is interesting. From my experience: My book bag has saved my life. If you’re going to get one I would recommend North Face. Invest in one if you get one! Get some nice pens, highlighters, and notecards for finals week if you are a visual learner. Target 50 cent cups are great for orange juice, chocolate milk, etc. But this is just my experience! Everyone’s experience is valid. Good luck in school and best of luck on your finals!

Poor college student here!! I have a need for almost everything on the list lol. Especially for the notebooks, pencils, highlighters, and printer. I would just get some basic things and then buy more stuff as needed. Or you can just keep the receipt and return the stuff you don't use. Also, don't feel bad for only being able to afford ramen! It's okay, you don't need to go out and buy fresh food when it is not accessible!!
