you don't just buy Reckles you buy a package ( Brand, Marketing, Pro, ....)

You're just describing T1. As an org, I feel like they have scouted and gave opportunities to the most world class caliber players that other teams overlooked.

this clip could be 5 words; "because he costs too much" lmao such insight

It’s true and this is why soooo many of the great players are ending up teamless because they are just to expensive and to go out and buy them and not win a worlds championship it’s a loss to your company. That’s the way it is for sports too sure spend all the money you want but if you don’t win a championship all the money spent was for nothing you had a better shot buying cheaper players and taking a 50/50 shot of making it to worlds

It's a small point, but that saying Copy is one of the worst academy mids? Most people that know anything about academy are saying Copy is probably the best mid prospect. He definitely isn't at the level of Jensen or Nisqy, but it was weird to hear him throwing that out there when it's the exact opposite of reality

The rational a team would use would probably be that they make a lot of people the money back with the fanbase and brand of Rekkles as well as success which also will brings in fans which means more merch sales, more ad revenue on website and YouTube views, more sponsorship opportunities. It’s definitely a risk though, it’s very hard to estimate exactly if it will be worth it or not.

Rekkles' buyout is NOT 1.5 million USD. That's just Oce's asking price. It was 10 million, and then a few days later it was 2 million, and 55 minutes later it was 1.5 million, and yesterday he was looking for a team to ship him out to on a loan - which effectively makes him a free transfer, given that his contract only runs through 2022.

And why Oce's doing this?

Because he knows that he's about to be stuck with a bench player who he'll have to pay 400k over the course of a year.

And why is looking for a team to loan him to, instead of just lowering the asking price?

Because he's proud and he won't admit to being wrong, nor is he willing to look like a donkey for asking that much for a player whose market value is nowhere near the asking price.

EDG's roster change this year costs the club 10M us dollar (Just Viper, Jiejie, and Flandre. Scout and Meiko are not new members). If they follow this logic bc it's only a "business", they would not have won the world. They did this not just bc they want to stay profitable, but bc they want to win.

not only that, but if baby rekkles becomes really good, you can sell him for a lot of moneys

I think it has to do with the role as well. If that was a midlaner or a toplaner, people would pay. No one wants to spend heavily on ADC nowadays unless its NA. Most neglected role probably at the moment. I mean no matter how good you are as ADC, its still the mid or jungle that dictates the game. I think EDG is prime example. Viper is the best in the world, but it boils down to Scout and Jeijei performing in the end. Doesn't matter how much Viper stomps.

its funny how we went from Perkz and Swordart being 6 mil contracts to teams wanting to save money and not pick up these all star players in one year

I mean, I think the post was saying that rhetorically. They knew it was because of buyouts and the point of the post was to suggest changes to buyouts rather than asking for a reason

This is an issue at least every 2 years, if not every single year. "How are there such good players not getting spots?"

I'm hoping it stays this way. I *personally* feel like the only way we can really build talent is by giving more players the chance and be willing to try out various compositions. Raw talent is not the only thing that wins, as has been proven many times. People require synergy just like champions in the game have different synergy.

He shoulda never left Fnatic they would got quarters at worlds again even though it’s stagnant it’s better then not making worlds

I agree money is the main issue, number 2 is ego.
How well does someone play on a team, what is their reputation selfish and self centered or as a true humble leader ;).
The ego point is why so many dream teams cant fulfill any dreams at all, stats are their individually in their respective teams. cause they are lifted up by that whole team supporting them.
Put all those individuals together that are used to being supported and not necissarily the best supporters themselves, certain failure.

This makes a lot of sense. Rekkles is 19 times a newbie player per year. Imagine putting a newbie has talent 18 yr old player. If he can perform you can use him for a long time for way less and he can play for longer because he is way younger and has a lot more chance to grow. Investing into Rekkles is a hard choice to make because if he can't win worlds for the time you lose money and auk g2 still have not won worlds yet. Unless the team is mega jacked and has a high chance of winning worlds Rekkles probably won't be on the priority list of most euw teams. This is different for lck and lpl teams because they win most world and international tournaments so the chance of return is just more assured and stable

TSM can afford Rekkles but after the whole Reginald drama with Doublelift I don't think Rekkles would wanna join that org with a shit environment. If he could look to join EG I guess? C9 and 100T can probably afford him too but I doubt he'll go to NA. He could honestly take a year gap off as well. Jensen and Nisgy are planning not to play as well. So many Veterans taking a break is just so sad. But don't worry lads! because next year will be entertaining for NA since everyone can't wait for Bjergsen to shit on TSM especially on Reginald. I bet Bjergsen was so tired of his shit that he finally decided to leave that org. Bjergsen's not the type to be involved in drama or expose Reginald but I do think Bjergsen is also tired of his shit too.

There a pro's and con's to getting Rekkles. One big con I think Rekkles has is that he isn't that willing to take risks ingame. He always goes for the safe play. The ones that he knows he can't loose. But these are often not the plays that will win you the game in big tournaments. But for that salary you want a player that can random 1v9 a fight sometimes. At least I would
