How to Grip and Snap a Fastball in Softball

Although the fastball is the most basic pitch, it is still effective at striking out opposing hitters. Like all pitches, the grip and snap are key to a good fastball.

To grip a fastball, look for a ”C.” It can be either forward or backward. You will want three or four fingers to touch the seam at all times. For your snap, it is important to release the fastball out of the back of your palm. When you follow through, try to poke yourself in the shoulder. These tips will help you produce more spin on the ball.
