That is already solved for y. y = 13 - 12x is the same as y = -12x + 13. Make sure you maintain each terms sign ( the 12x is negative and the 13 is positive).

first subtract x from both sides. You get 4y = 12 - x. Then you divide both sides by 4. You get y = 3 - 1/4x. Hope that helped.

Just add 3 to both side to have y by itself. Then you will have y = x + 3. You can't combine x and 3 since they are not like terms, just put it on the side. Hope that made sense.
