Years ago at about 11pm some random night I emailed Paul Gilbert, on a whim, some simple musical question, and in 5 minutes received a helpful answer from the man himself, his sincerity and generosity of spirit will not be forgotten.

I was once at a guitar camp thing where Paul Gilbert was one of the guests of honour. Somebody asked if there would ever be a Mr. Big reunion and he said no, probably not, and they were all a bit tired of playing that one song.

Just then, there was the loudest peal of thunder as the building we were in was struck by lightning.

He cringed a little and, without missing a beat, started playing the intro to "To Be With You".
