I like using Daniel Madison’s “Hustlers” deck for this… the difference on the back is so minimal and can be seen from the sides… so I like to spread the cards out on my felted surface, and have the spectator point with one finger while I hold their wrist. While they’re moving their hand left and right, I say I can sense a “pulse” or some sort of connection when their finger is over their card, works great

I always love when someone asks me to perform a trick with their deck and it's a one way back design. This is my actual go to for a deck like that. I make a big deal of showing no breaks and let them shuffle if I have made sure they keep them face up. If they don't then I use a sleight trick or something else

Either that or slightly taper normal cards so that when you turn one upside down you feel the different shape against your fingers

I am 65. This was one of the tricks I did when I was 5. I believe that people actually did not know how I did it. After the trick I would riffle shuffle so to mix them reverse and forward before setting the deck down.

I thought of this exact trick years ago. With a streamline deck. There's a small blemish on the back of them that I can tell which way they are. I did it flipping the cards over, deliberated going past it. Then betting that the next card I flip is theirs. They get happy knowing they already saw it. Then I flip their card on the table over. Lol
