U-POL RAPTOR Bedliner and Protective Coating - Tintable with Kevin Tetz

Tinting Instructions: Visit your local automotive paint (PBE) supply store for tint. For best color match results, Tintable RAPTOR requires a urethane single stage color. If you choose to use basecoat, ask your paint supplier to leave the binder out of the formulation so it is pure pigment. The final color will appear slightly lighter than the base color. Once mixed, check the color of the tinted system before spraying and adjust if critical. For tinting, typically 5% color is required for good opacity. When tinting above 5%, product will need to be mixed out of the bottle in a suitable mixing cup. For best color control, add color by weight. For best results, use the solvent based toners from basecoat mixing systems. RAPTOR® can also be tinted with solvent based basecoats and solvent based 2K solid color isocyanate cured paints. Where 2K paints are used this will also need to be activated before use. Do not use waterbased systems to tint RAPTOR.

RAPTOR is available in Black, White, and Tintable in National Rule, 2.6 VOC Compliant and 1.7 VOC Compliant formulas. You can find RAPTOR in 1L kits, 4L kits, 2L Roll-On kits, 5L tins and pails, and 200L (55 US GAL) drums.

U-POL RAPTOR Tough and Tintable Protective Coating is a durable urethane coating that provides surfaces with a protective barrier that can withstand the toughest situations.

Developed to tolerate most climatic conditions, RAPTOR is UV resistant and won’t fade or “chalk” even after years in the sun. RAPTOR is also waterproof and protects surfaces from rust making it perfect for substrates that will be submerged in water, including salt water.

RAPTOR’s versatility makes it perfect for almost any application. Spray or roll RAPTOR on high traffic areas; it’s scratch and stain resistant and easy to clean, simply hose it off. Its flexible formulation can handle impacts without cracking, making it perfect for its most popular application as a truck bedliner.

RAPTOR is unlike other bedliners or protective coatings. 2-component urethane technology far surpasses the durability of epoxy and 1-component coatings. And in case it does scratch (which is tough to do!), RAPTOR can easily be repaired. You can’t do that with most of the other bedliners and protective coatings!

RAPTOR protects industrial surfaces in the harshest environments as well as the smaller surfaces we rely on every day. It’s durable, tintable, looks great and lasts a long time. When you need a surface protection solution that can stand up to the elements, choose RAPTOR!

Hint: drop a couple of 5/16th ball bearings into the bottle when you ad the tint, to act as acitators to help mix the base and the tint, and then the catalyst.

I used this on my K5 Blazer interior and cargo area . I took everything to bare metal, sprayed with epoxy primer, then used the shutz gun [ I had to use 50 psi ] with the Raptor white tint kit . I'm really impressed with how it looks and it is very tough . It also seems to stick very well and I think just scuffing the old paint would have worked fine, but I wanted to be sure there was no rust that needed to be repaired under the origional paint . However, I was only able to get one coat on most of the front floor area before I ran out . Since it will be covered with a Stock Interiors molded vinyl floor I just decided to live with it, because I put 2 very heavy coats of epoxy on under it . My advise is get more than you think you need, because if you have to wait for more liner to arrive after you discover you didn't have enough, you will have to scuff the first coat to get it to stick . I wish I would have bought more . This is an excellent product if you dont want a grippy, rubbery type liner like Herculiner . I also like the Herculiner [ non aerosol ] because it is very tough and rubbery . I used it to line my wheel housings with a shutz gun, the rocks just bounce off of it with no chipping . Herculiner also is great for a super tough non skid for things like stair or step treads .

I'm about to spry tomorrow morning! The question to all did anyone leave their plastic parts on the truck bed and mask around them. I don't ever plan on taking my plastic top guards off

I have seen so many guys spray this over bare metal and pay for it years later. I always spray metal sealer and adhesion promoter first.

!!!WARNING!!! PLEASE READ DIY ER
Hey Kevin I just started my project I bought two of the kits that rolls on. The roller naps are garbage and used the naps outta the other kit to get the one kit done. I tried calling the customer service finally after calling on and off switching between customer service and technical support I got tech support on the phone I left a message earlier on the customer service line at 8 a.m no call back. the tech guy suggests that I go BUY deck naps from local hardware store. I read that others have had problems with the roller naps. I told him that's gonna be a negative and send me some more naps now I've to reprep the surface to continue my project Suggestion is please include more naps in the kits

Ok, at the Road Hard Roadhouse, we use lots of POR-15, i am guessing for best results to clean surface, use red scuff pad, clean again then shoot the Raptor? Thank you in advance

The Preparation directions on TCP Global web site say to lightly scuff the surface. Is this sufficient vs burning through the factory paint with 180? You can paint/clear coat using scuff pads.

Planning on spraying Raptor liner (black) using a 4 bottle kit. How long after spraying before I should reinstall my bed tie downs and tonneau cover?
