Some people thought I was like them and they thought they could manipulate me . They did scare me, but I didn’t do anything they wanted me to.

In other words, this video shows everything that Hollywood gets wrong about Psychology in movies.

Another technique I can think of is the salesman's favourite: pressing for a quick decision. As in, "Only 25 more left in stock, order yours today!"

This is basically every tactic used by a narcicissist. It's kinda sad how many people today are narcicissists due to social media and social norms today.

Manipulative persuasion is widely integrated by people looking for excuses to bully people. But look like a kind person while doing it.
A person with an otherwise normal trait is targeted. They use out-of-context data to point out why it is bad, and use fear-mongering to create a sense of urgency. It panics people and their immediate reaction is to harrass the victim to "stop doing the bad thing".

Adding this to my "how to manage toxic parenting" playlist. Even my therapist after everything my son's mother has done says "you have to expect the worst from her in order to protect yourself" 😞

bystander ... blew my mind, I have been arguing that for almost 20 years now and I have never heard that turn coined before until now, I came to that conclusion while working in retail as firsthand personal experience ... uniquely, I have been completely blind now for 6.5 years and I have experienced increased attention, empathy, sympathy and assistance (and maybe fear of public backlash when someone is physically or verbally rude to me then Discover I'm blind) when someone else mentions that I am blind

Well-timed. Trying to gauge my friend’s partner’s behaviors around her and how she acts around them. There may be some abuse and manipulation at hand but they (friend’s partner) started a faction war with me in the middle.

Glad that I checked this video out. Because who’s know how people really are in terms of personality or what they’re up to. Good thing that I observe others and my surroundings when I can.

My mother taught me to ignore authority. Unfortunately, she didn't realize that meant her. 😊😊

Could you elaborate on love bombing? I've gotten in a relationship about 2.5 months ago and I had been doing exactly what you described with love bombing, showering her with love and affection. I have absolutely no intent of manipulating her or simply stopping showing affection. I believe, the way you explained it, it's too easy to confuse real affection with manipulative one. Someone in a real healthy relationship could think they are being manipulated after seeing this video.

1:38 I was taught about that study in highschool. It was a class about ethics and why we choose what we choose. The authority aspect is just one of many. It really came down to where did their source of right and wrong stem from. Authority figures were just one of the sources found.
