i fell into this trap as a young girl and it genuinely alters what you are attracted to later on in life. At 25 i have never dated a black man and can not see myself with one because of the awful things my dad would say about them growing up. mind you i’m mixed and my dad is black himself! i do feel 100% that environmental factors strongly influences dating “preferences” and it is rooted in selfhate.

Well that’s why it’s important to teach your children while they’re young, that rejection can be protection and that it’s okay to be someone who isnt liked by everyone💯

This is why it’s so important at a young age to tell our girls that they are beautiful, and to see their own beauty. Do mirror exercises with them and have them point out features they like about themselves. The awareness of how cruel the world can be starts earlier unfortunately for black and brown kids. Start early affirming your children.

Black women are one of the most beautiful women I know, sometimes a lot of black men don't take the time to appreciate and love black women. As a black man I appreciate everyone but I Love black women cause my mom is black, 6 sisters black, my wife black. I am all black.
