Sheesh - I don't know how much time I invested in this nonsense. Tons... But so pleased I found this tutorial - many, many thanks for that.
I had to go right to the end though - and that took a good couple of hours. I was hoping for the quick fix, but re-installing Windows it was. The only issue now is that after installing 23H2, which is what is now on the MS site, Windows update still wants me to 'retry' updating to 22H2. I'm currently ignoring that and hoping it will go away when I eventually reboot. At least the install went pretty smoothly.
