For me, Koala mixer's utility function is a game changer for mixing. Mono modes help me tremendously in EQing frequency masking. I can better hear where a sample wants to sit, left, middle, or right then pan accordingly in stereo. I've been able to come up with much more clarity that way and it helps figure out other filters and fx to apply.

I use my MPC to make beats from scratch, I don’t use samples because I sell my beats and I get more money by eliminating sample clearing fees . I layer my original melodies and make them sound like samples like a band from the 70s
