Plasma Cutting & Welding For Beginners Do you want to learn how to fabricate ? In my video I will show you my basic plasma cutter ideal for plasma cutting for beginners. If you are just starting to learn to fabricate its great fun and doesn't have to cost a fortune to start. First you will need a plasma cutting machine capable of cutting up to 3/4 of in inch thick and a welder of some description most newbies seem to prefer a arc welder but I like the MiG welder to learn basic welding skills. My plasma cutter and MiG welder are both just cheap Chinese machines ideal to start your journey into fabrication .Also when you start with the cheaper end of the market you don't have so much to loose if you decide its not for you. You never know in a few years you may have your own metal fabrication shop.

Basic info for basic tooling . I've been mig welding for years and yup it's almost idiot proof . Nicknames are lick n stick or pigeon poo ..lol. great and simple . With arc i could never get the hang of that . If you mig the most important tip Turn on the gas ....
Plasma well that's a new one to me but with Pete's tips I'm learning ..cut 50 pilot arc ..should be fun watch this space an hold me beer ...

G'day Pete
I use flux core all the time for my scrap art projects it spatter's a lot more than ordinary solid wire and you have to keep the torch lead straight to avoid birds nesting.

Do you have a brand and model recommendations for the pilot arc welder? The one you listed as far as I can tell isn't pilot arc. Thanks for any help because I'm still confused and the way they describe the plasma cutters on the different sites isn't always easy to figure out. Thanks for the great videos you do!
