Mylove Bridge, Kherson, Satellite Imagery

The Mylove (pronounced me love eh) bridge is old news, because of UAF operational security. I believe the UAF has already reached Beryslav. That is why the orcs are beating feet out of Kherson.

@Suchomimus • I'm glad you covered this bridge. When Ukraine first started moving South, some YouTubers speculated that all the bridges heading south near the Dnipro would be destroyed. Your hypotheses of why this one is still standing are interesting. 👍

I had a look on google maps and there are plenty of photos of the causeway. It's narrow and looks like tanks and armored vehicles would have to go in single file . I wonder if they can find some way round it, I do hope so !

Mylove not only has that causeway/bridge coming from the NE, it also has a good road coming in from Sukhanove (N). Sukhanove is also the better, more logical attack route...unless Russia does dumber than dumb again. (You can never tell with Russians.) 🤣

Even if the bridge section is destroyed, surely the Ukrainians will not be coming into this area without some of the self-transporting, self-deploying pontoons the Hermans gave them some months ago.

Rather than crossing the bridge, better bypass it. As much the mud is the problem, it is still land instead of water. The possibility for the bridge to be destroyed is high. Even if Ukrainian forces attempt to build pontoon bridge, it would be an easy target for the artillery, missile or even aircraft attack.

Once winter sets in mobility isn’t as much an issue. Once the ground and water freezes most terrain features that were a problem are much less so.

Thanks but listening to the news today, I suspect the Russian troops may have already partly retreated and/or lack ammunition or skill to demolish the bridge. From what I have heard online the Russians forces are low on supplies, lack morale, communications and leadership, so a collapse in the Kherson area is likely.

Well, this is where the Humvee M113 and YPR 765 come into play.
All 3 are capable of "mudding" to move around and they're within range of Drones and Artillery for support. So it may not be an unbeatable obstacle.

One hundred percent agree with you Suchomimus. I believe the Russians are for sure thinking ahead in utilizing every natural obstacle for their own defense, and logistic purposes as they can. It is an intelligent proposition but surely one of self preservation and desperation.

We shall hope the Ukrainian Armed Forces also recognize this, and as well have their own plan for contending with this bridge. They have consistently proven far more tactically and strategically intelligent than the Russians do far so I suspect they do have a plan.
